Need some help locating a NFA gun.

I am looking for a Benelli M4 SBS. Does not have to be new but would like it to be within reason on price. Any leads?

First of all, what's "within reason on price"? Your budget is likely much different than mine.

Secondly, I'd be willing to bet that the particular gun you're looking for isn't going to be a ready-made item you can just find for sale somewhere. You're better off buying an M4, filing the paperwork and doing the mods yourself.
 
Found it brand new for 1500 + tax... Where are these clowns getting their 3k figure.

That website has overpriced guns, a Kriss that is SBR'ed and with all that stuff is offered from the company directly for around 2 grand and they list it over 3.3 grand.
 
I have a small question about the transfer tax in the first link. The seller states that he will pay the first $200 transfer tax..

When I bought my SBR from a class III dealer it did not cost me to transfer it to my dealer. Is there a case where it could cost two transfer taxes? say a individual to a person?
 
Say you have a select fire M16 on a form 4 in Indiana and the buyer is in Florida. The seller in Indiana would have to form 4 it to a class III SOT dealer, cost $200. Then the dealer would transfer it on a form 3 to a class III SOT in Florida, cost $0. Then the buyer would have it transferred from the SOT in FL to him/her on a form 4, cost $200. Total cost to DOJ $400.

Wrong. First things first - don't say Class III SOT.

ANY SOT can transact NFA business - whether it be dealer manufacturer or importer. Many people look for dealers only and they need to expand their search field since there are others in the industry that can handle the work.

Item on Form 4 in Indiana - goes direct to FFL/SOT in Florida via $200 and Form 4 - then goes Form 4 to new owner via Form 4 and $200.

The way you describe it takes one step too many.
 
SOoo If im understanding this correctly, if I want to sell my SBR from VA to say GA via gunbroker. the total cost would be $400? I probably will never sell it but if I ever do its nice to know. The dealer threw me a pile of papers and said, do "this, this, this AND this" never really explained anything.

I bought my SBR from a dealer and not a individual, I did not know how things work person to person.

I am interested in a silencer a buddy of mine has, I havent made a offer on it yet but if I wanted to could I submit the paperwork, pay the tax and once approved with stamp in hand then do the transfer FTF (hes local) or would it still have to go through a FFL.

The LEAST amount of transfer tax would be $400.

It would be $200 to get the item from VA to GA and another $200 to get it from GA to the end user.

Read/hear enough "class III guns" crap, and to be fair the SOT holders aren't helping their case any because they are the most frequent offenders I hear at gun shows, and you'll slip up in a post every once in a while. I should have left it as just any FFL with a SOT, which I did in the last part

As for a cross state transfers, IN to FL on a F4 and then FL to buyer on a F4 makes much much much more sense, 4,3,4, was what I was told by an SOT when asking about costs for an out of state transfer.
