Early on, 70s-80s, I was under the impression that the nose of 'hard' SWC, shooting paper, would deform less on its two cushion bank shot into the chamber.
Not that I could tell any difference, but less deformation tends to lead to more accuracy potential.
Later, 80s-90s, I was under the impression that 'hard' lead SWC shooting steel, would be more likely to splatter side-to-side rather than bounce back.
I won't shoot steel at seven yards, but fast stepping jacketed bullets have been know to bounce back and 'tag' the shooter at 20 yards.
So, if thats for true, which is preferable?
Thanks,
salty
