So much has been posted on the LC9 but I just couldn't resist adding my own comments.
I've been thinking about a small 9mm for some time and was leaning towards the LC9 but the Solo caught my eye. It was just hard to justify the added cost over the Ruger. I happened to go past Gander today just to look around and found that they had some LC9's in stock. Fair, but not great price. One followed me home.
Got home and loaded up some snap caps to see what the trigger was like out of the box. It was horrible! I knew it would be long but I could feel and hear the crunching and it was drenched in some sort of lube! I'm thinking I made a big mistake.
I gave it a good scrubbing and lubed it up with my favorite stuff that has been almost like a trigger job in a tube/ bottle in the past. Put her back together and tried again. Still long, of course, but all the crunching noise and feel was gone. Actually a nice trigger and never live fired yet. Makes you wonder why Ruger puts sand in their lube.
On to the feel. Outstanding with the pinky extension. What amazed me was when I put the flat mag plate on it was still amazing. I've always hated wrapping my pinky under the grip on both my revolvers and semi's. I really like the feel of of this thing with my pinky wrapped. The grip still feels like it's got control. Outstanding design, at least for my hands.
As for the mag disconnect, loaded indicator and internal lock, obviously not deal breakers. LCI doesn't bother me. Mag disconnect will stay since once the gun proves itself, it will team up with my 442 for carry. No need to give the lawyers any ammo. The internal lock will never get used and I see it as worthless.
To sum it up, I think I'm going to love it. Great sights, great feel, nice size. Can't wait to see if it shoots!
