How to reload 38 special by a 1st grader

I certainly hope that youngster was SUPERVISED!!!! And where are his safety glasses??? Tsk Tsk Toodle Doo indeed.

Good deal willbozz61 it`s good to see youngsters doing summtin besides playing gameboy type games or walkin `round with a cell phone glued to there ear.

I had a HECK of a time keepin safety glasses on my girls when they helped !!!

Reloading is`nt inherintly dangerous ,but the potentual is there, but then again you can stik a fork in ya eye while eating also .

Using both hands and full body weight to operate a RockChucker? I guess we are close to the limit on how big you have to be to reload.

Please remember the safety glasses (especially when priming, but all the time is a good habit to get into, even during relatively safer processes like charging, seating and crimping.

My step son is also a first grader and he loves to help me when I am reloading.

Outstanding!

It's great to see such a young one carrying on with our hobby (or should that be obsession?)

Handsome young man too.
His parents should be proud.

But I'd second, third or fourth the idea of wearing safety glasses.

Just don't let him take it to show and tell.

Don't beat yourself up over it. He wasn't actually SEATING primers. But wearing the "uniform" (safety glasses, or, at his age, maybe a face shield) is something good to get ingrained, "dyed in the wool", so to speak. It is never too early to get safety installed in your subconscious.

I did not grow up around shooting or loading, but I knew to wear safety glasses when shooting. But I never thought about glasses while reloading for a couple of decades. I just did not grow up with it or learn properly. I know better now, but also now have a little voice in the back of my head that says, "Are you SURE you know everything you need to know before you do this?"

They say God protects fools and little children. God protected this fool (me). God has a good helper in you for this child.

I just shot some video of my 4 year old daughter depriming and resizing my .38 special brass, I was pretty proud. She wanted to finish making a complete round, but at this time depriming is enough, maybe I will let her seat and crimp in a year or two.
