.300 BLK barrel in M16A1 clone

I was putting together a theoretical AR build for a possible AR build party and since I'm not super conversant with AR patterns, I wanted to make sure my build would work before buying parts (Well more hopelessly looking for an M16A1 parts kit before giving in and buying repro parts).
From looking at various .300 barrels, it looks like all of them use carbine or pistol gas port placements, is this correct? (this probably isn't proper terming but like I said. . .)
If this is not true, will I be able to find a .300 blk barrel with the right contours that can be used in an M16A1 clone or will I have to modify the build? Or will the contours not even matter?
If needed, can a lopro gas block be hidden under the triangle handguards easily?

That is actually very awesome and a variant I had never really known about before until now. Thanks. I dropped an email to Noveske to ask about the barrel diameter of their AAC barrels so I can start making notes on the build.

So I found out that the barrel i want to use is 0.725" in diameter. Is shimming a .750" front sight post with .0125"/0.3mm piece of metal or boring out a .625" front sight a better choice? The shimming seems like a better idea to me since the uniformity will be consistent whereas I'll not know if the boring is flawless until it's on the barrel.
edit: the front sight base is not going to be used as the gas block, the gas block is lopro under the handguards.

Z-michigan: I'll contact a local gunsmith everyone I know likes to see if he has time to do it but the shimmed FSB will be just the front sight, the gas system will be a pistol length lo-pro under the handguards (ten inch barrel built as a pistol until SBR paperwork done).

Dprice3844444: I'm trying to build a rechambered clone, the S&W is too long and not an A1 receiver, while i could throw on one of those handle/sight components for an A3, I'd prefer not.

Big_Bad_Bob: I googled the image and the setup looks cool but I didn't put enough info since I decided to go with an xm177 clone. I know I'll have to order a pistol buffer system and the shorter triangle handguards and the barrel, gas tube, and the FCG will be put aside/sold if i can get a parts kit like this (which I probably can't find so I'm making the budget with ordering Nodak NDS-604 "Retro" upper and NDS-601 lower receivers), I just hoped the front sight from it could be used as just a sight while shimmed in place or replaced/bored out with a newer one if that one isn't the right size.

his build is awesome but the whole point of this build is to do it relatively cheaply and have a somewhat unique semi-retro build for an ar-15 build party/class a friend is setting up that will eventually get SBR'ed and suppressed. And maybe engraved with my favorite Spanish Civil War/Woody Guthrie quote.
