As hunting season gets closer and closer, I just can't resist seeing what everyone is picking up on their game cams. Stories to accompany pictures always help. Here is one that my buddy has been tracking all summer on his land that he bowhunts right outside of the cities...may be trying to borrow a bow to get out there once he takes one out! This is one picture, he keeps bragging about a "possible big 12" but won't show us the pictures yet.

This is the second week of July, so I'm betting he's looking pretty good now...

well, looks like this thread was a winner....go ahead and slap a sticky on this one mods. I won't even bother posting the updates

I wouldn't want to mess with that last group of "critters"..... illegals carrying water bottles are one thing. Illegals carrying large backpacks are quite another....

illegals looking for work over here typically travel light. They carry water, maybe a little food. They don't carry those large backpacks. It's possible those guys might be packing their water in there... maybe.

what they will carry in backpacks is a large amount of drugs.... there are different kinds of illegals. Ones that are coming here to weedeat your grass, and others that are hauling grass.

I hunted close to the border for years, and even hunted in mexico for a couple. I hunt about 75 miles from the border now and rarely see them, but back in the day when you see a group coming through with backpacks, it's not a good sign and best to steer clear. We watched them all the time... 90% of the groups have no baggage with them, the 10% that do are the ones you watch.

the latest and greatest are the ones that are hiring mercenary types to pack their drugs across the border.... you might think sitting in a deer blind on a long sendero you would feel safe with that 300 win mag, but when you see a dozen guys in camo fatigues, and a couple of them carrying rifles, your safety factor dwindles....

This is not mine but a buddy's that is going to let me hunt on his property this year.

I have tons of pictures from the game cam. Here is a little bear cub playing a game with the raccoons.

I love looking at other folks trail cam pictures, the variety of different animals and situations that are captured is amazing. Sadly I don't have any pictures of my own to contribute, but hopefully I will soon, just need to decide on a decent ~$100 camera and make my move.

Pat4x4,
Out of curiosity what part of the country are you in, it looks like yall have all the coolest wildlife out there!

ghitch75,
Nice 12 pointer, that's what I call a buck, I don't think we even grow them like that down here!

I am from the great Geographical (not politically) state of Northern California, And you will love it when you get a trail camera.. It is so much fun wondering what you will get next.. Get a camera and report back!! :D

Here are some I can share. South Texas coastal plains white-tail and feral hogs.
