Geeze, that's a lotta knife. I was gonna negatively comment on the name as it was so very non-Buck but I see it's connected to Hood's name so I now get it.

I really like the choice of screw on handles, their contour and color.

What do you suppose the strange little notch on the top of the blade is for?

Is that a wire-breaking notch?

I recall seeing the knife in Blade Magazine. Now that Ron Hood has passed, it will probably sell well to buyers who want to pay homage to him. Looks like a heck of a camp knife.

wire breaking and pulling a pot off a fire. and yes, it is one heck of a knife. gonna be a great camping companion that might replace my Becker BK9 if it holds up to heavy use. (which im betting it will..its a Buck)

how long do ya think it'll take before all the "zombie hunters" want one? LOL

While I like the "hoodlum" it would no doubt be a bit large for me so like BCCL, I'm waiting for the line to flesh out a bit though I'll no doubt opt for either the "hoodie" or "hood rat" model.;)

I remember when they debuted that at SHOT show & Ron showed it to me. It was a knife he was darn proud of seeing come to fruition. Reminds me , I need to pick one up.

It was weird to have SHOT show in town and not see Ron this year. :(

i paid 147 plus tax. a fair price, and i was able to support a local ma and pop hardware store by buying there. win win

I have a Fehrman 10" Hood Hunter in CPM3V.Nearly the same design by Ron Hood except without the wire breaker cut.Great design IMHO.

Punk

From other traffic out there, it seems the "Punk" has been released.

Shouldn't be too hard to find on Buck's site.

after putting a little thought into it, i decided whats gonna be added to the Hoodlum to make it the ultimate camp knife. using the straps, i added a Buck 112 with a nylon pouch, and in the pocket i put my favorite Swiss Army knife, the allox farmer, and an old Buck steel ive had for years. bring on the warm weather and i'll be dissapearing into my timber with my Hoodlum setup, the Super Blackhawk and the M1A Socom.
