Anyone purchased a gun because you read about it accidently from an online forum? If so, what did you buy?
I certainly have. I've told myself I'm not going to buy a firearm this month and soon enough after visiting online forums likes these, and I see a member flashing their new toy on a thread, I eventually gave in and bought one.

I was tempted and eventually gave in to a Glock 29, PLR-16 and a Saiga 308.

3" S&W Model 65. I heard such good things about the 3" Model 13 that I had to have one. Unfortunately I didn't see ANY of them so I settled for a 65.

If I had my eye on one that I thought I really wanted and the people here had nothing but good things to say about it, I probably would. I will definately take their advise and check it out for myself more closely. But when I think more about it, it would depend on what I was buying it for. (self defence, collecting)

The decision would altimately be mine to make free and clear of what advise other has given. What works for them may not work for me. If I make my own decision and it's not what I expected or turns out to be defective or something and I did my own thinking when buying it, I could hold no ill will about it except to myself.

I did buy a Hornady LNL AP from the good advise I received from of a post I put on this forum about loading 9mm ammunition on one. It was all good advise and I am very pleased with it.

Just one so far.

I did not know about the Cimarron high-polished blued 1911 until I saw one for sale here on THR, I looked at several reviews including Jeff at gunblast's review, and watched a few other youtubes and that was it, I was in love. I missed the one for sale here by less than a day, got the money together just a few hours too late, he had brought it to a LGS, but I wanted one badly at that point and found a great deal by posting a WTB ad and receiving suggestions from friendly members :) Found a great deal on one NIB for much less than they are going for on most websites! It's a beautiful gun, and is quite accurate. I have a few hundred rounds through it including a few mags of JHPs with no function problems at all. I bought the grips separately, after much thought on what would look best, they are Ajax.

The 'spottyness' is actually a leopard print sheet that acts as a lampshade on my living room ceiling, reflected on the mirror blued finish

Many...

I wouldn't have known the Vz.58 existed if it weren't for the Internet, as well as many other guns I have.

I bought a HK USC to convert it to a UMP after learning about this practice on a forum. Forums have certainly influenced many of my other gun purchases but i wouldn't say they were the sole cause.

Would not have considered a CZ if it wasn't for the good press it gets on a lot of forums.

Same for me, I bought my cz sp-01 phantom that way, I don't regret it . Shot 6-7 k rounds with it and still has good ad new.

I bought a Windham Weaponry AR to check out just because I appreciated the story behind the new company and thought it was a stand-up thing for Richard Dyke to do. Probably wouldn't have heard that story if it wasn't for the online forums, cause I don't care for gun magazines.

Savage 93g . Never owned a Savage before but it wont be my last accutrigger...........

yes
I've seen some that I've either read about or researched, and most of my 'screaming deals' fall into this category, I saw it and knew it was a good buy, or it looked interesting and so I looked it up. I like early European pistols BTW... Sometimes you can find some nice 'cheap junk pistol' that the owner wants money for something nice like a S&W Sigma...

Four so far: Savage 17HMR, CZ .223, Highpoint 4595 carbine, S&W M&P 15Sport.

One to find: CZ 75B SA....
