I have. All transactions went smoothly. Find a good FFL to handle the transfer and that's most of the battle.

So far, I've only bought one gun online, my Mosin M-44.

Everything else was bought after checking it person, both new and used.

If i get my C&R next year, then I'll order online. But I can order just about anything new at my LGS for 10% over cost, so unless I find one heck of a deal online, I'm just ordering new from my LGS. Used, I prefer to see and hold it first. Although, if the deal is good enough, I'll buy sight unseen.

I buy pretty much everything online, so yes. If I run across a deal locally I'll still buy, but I've NEVER found a decent deal at a dedicated gun shop. Only local guns I've bought have been face to face private sales, from a pawn shop, and a few new from Wal-mart when they still sold guns. Other than that - local guns get my business only for powder and primers, and I've heard that hazmat is being removed from those items in 2014, so once that happens I'll likely order those online too.

Heck I've bought breakfast cereal online before (Just try finding Count Chocula locally when it's not Halloween . . . . ;)).

All guns and most ammo on line only. I'm not going to help some LGS pay his rent. I use a local reloading outfit for ffl01 purchases.

Always

I am a dealer that buys and sells exclusively on line on various sites. In the last 6 years I have bought and sold over 525 guns and only had problems with the purchase on les than half dozen transactions. Being careful checking the seller out as much as possible read feedback all lessen the bad results.

I rarely buy new guns. My interests are mostly with older stuff. So most of my purchases are from the auction sites (GB and a few from AA).

My last purchase was a new rifle. I want to support local businesses and all, but nobody had the model I wanted in stock. One guy offered to get it on special order for $50 over retail for his trouble. That made it $525 + $50 + $40 sales tax or $615.

Or... I could have a "kitchen table" FFL get one from Bud's for $410 + $15 FFL fee + $15 shipping or $440.

$615 or $440... which would you choose?

Yes, I buy online. Too many good deals to be had online. If I can get it cheaper locally, then duh I will buy it locally. But otherwise, the internet has far too many good deals

Never I have allways found a local dealer i can buy for 10% over his cost on new firearms may even specail orders will still be cheaper than the online dealers.. Just never found a better deal on line. Any extra fee's is what sends it over the top. Used guns I tend to bid my time and i find what i am looking for. Just never found anything that i wanted new my local guy can't find for me.

I buy where I can get what I want at a reasonable price, new or used.

The most convenient around here is a FTF. No paperwork, just show your CCW permits to each other and go your separate ways.

I live in the boondocks. If I did't have the internet as my connection to the rest of country I'd be SOL. Most of my guns have been purchased on line. One bad transaction. Not bad considering.

I have bought plenty of guns on line.
In fact last week I was looking for a new Ruger LCP and found one on GunBroker(the dealer actually had two NIB at this price) for $239.95+$20.00 shipping+$15.00 FFL fee to my guy for a grand total of....$274.95.
I should have bought both of them that dealer had for that price.

I'm not a dealer. I have bought two from Academy (642; Moss 500), one from LGS (1905 hand ejector), and three used ones (pre WW2) online (two through a forum and one from Guns America). Haven't had any problems with these few online purchases. Just need to factor in the transfer fee. LGS here charges $50 or $60. Will definitely consider online for next purchase, new or used. Price is the only factor, as long as the offer or auction raises no obvious red flags. No-return policy for me, though, is a non-starter. Happy hunting.

I looked up the websites like impact guns and noticed that they sell their guns much cheaper than the actual retail price.
Most reputable gun shops sell their guns for less than the manufacturer suggested retail price. If your's doesn't you may need to find a new FLGS. ;)

Keep in mind there are other costs beyond the "list price" when you purchase guns on-line. You need to figure in the shipping costs and any transfer fees your local FFL holder will charge you. When you do that the great on-line buys sometimes are not so great. :p

When I buy local its to support my local gun store. I give them the first chance to get what I want, he is usually right on target money wise. If he cant deliver I go on line and purchase then transfer thru him. I will give him 2-4wks to find what I'm looking for, which I think is fair then he cant feel slighted.

I almost bought a NIB gun online a couple of years ago. When I went to my LGS to see about the FFL transfer, he had the same gun in the case for 5 bucks less (And no shipping or FFL fees.) Since then, I use the online sites for cost comparison purposes and usually find local prices better (New, used & FTF.)

Three firearms i picked up locally were a savage mkII fv-sr. He did not have one and none where found under normal searchs with the big wholesalers He found me one in a small wholsale dealer in Minnasota and had it in 3 days for 270 . A witness elit match that no one stocks and found that in 4 days for me and cost 499 out. Last was a cm9 in stock for 409. Thats what a good dealer should do. Only thing he could not find was back about a year a go and two guys wanted a pair of ruger SRK's in 454 casul. None in wholsalers and only one ruger could find for him was in a dealer in alaska. Only took him over night to find out. They bought 44's instead in stock. New production run was still a bit off at that time. My local gun shop is Price's Creek General Store. In the hills in NC in a small county. Stocks benneli's to h&r's, keystone to cz and a dozen or so ar. ak rifles and pistols. 400+ firearms at most times.

I like my LGS, but it's small, and although they have lots of guns; I have only bought 4 there in the last couple of months. I have bought 2 guns at a larger gunshop, but they're about 45 miles from here. I have bought 3 online from individuals. A Savage MKII, .17 Mach 2, a nib H001 'Ducks Unlimited' Henry, in .22lr, and a Remington 552 Speedmaster in 22.lr. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with all 3 purchases. The prices were good, even after paying the LGS their FFL fee. I have had PM and email 'in depth' contact with all three sellers, saw plenty of pictures of the guns, and twice the price was dropped quite a bit. I just about spent what I could for guns; at least for a while. I have a couple of shotguns from years ago; but wanted some 'cheap' shooting for fun. The .22 cal. and the .17M2 cal. are about the cheapest ammo around.

I do purchase a good few firearms on line. I also will give the 3 LGS's the time and opportunity to match/better the deal online. If they can I will go for it, and have a bunch of times. One particular LGS gets my business if the cost is a little more than on line as he does better when I use him for transfers than the others, also get a deal on the odd purchase now and again from him. I like FTF but that is not possible every time so I go with the deal that will serve me the best over the long run. For on line vendors I like Buds, Impact, and Gun Broker. It depends on your expectations when dealing on line. If you can't handle the firearm before the purchase and NEED to, then don't bother and pay more. :banghead: Me I have made some great deals and friends along the way by taking a chance with another gunnie.:D YMMV

I buy almost 100% online. $10 FFL, no sales tax, more to choose from and a lower sticker price more than offsets the few days wait.
