I'm looking for an affordable (less then 1K) AR15 rifle and saw a Delton AR15 with all magpul accessories for $799.99. Is this a good brand? Any one have any experience with them? And is that a good price? If you have other sugestions as well they would be welcome. Thanks guys!

I built up a mid-length carbine from one of their flat-top M4 style kits a few years back. They provided everything except the stripped lower & rear sight for less than $500. Customer service was good, everything fit & functioned just fine. Good accuracy & zero malfunctions to date with a variety of ammo.

They are good for casual use, but when you can put together an all mil-spec rifle with superior components and QC for $100 less than the price you stated, they just don't make much sense IMO.

I put together a Palmetto State Armory AR with all Magpul furniture for $700 back in April. And mine cost a little more because I ordered lots of the stuff separately, due to me wanting some non-standard options (20" barrel with collapsible stock). If you want one of the more common setups, you can get one of their kits and it would be even cheaper. That is definitely what I would recommend.

Mine has several thousand rounds thru it, dusted to death in the desert, spraypainted, banged around in the back of my truck and no problems, tight fit to lower, no complaints

Not trying to start an argument, but please elaborate on which components in the Palmetto are superior to the Del-ton and why they are superior.

For under $500 you can get a Del-Ton kit online. You should be able to find a lower receiver (at your local gun shop?) for $100. Brownel's online has a great video series to show you how to assemble an AR. I assembled a DelTon 16" carbine this way for under $600. It's always worked great for me; feeds great with cheap Wolf/ Tula and shoots better than I do.
Only complaint: I got mine with A2 sights, and I think the rear sight is pretty low quality, and it doesn't fit the upper tightly.
I got my kit in under 1 week, but I know a guy who had to wait over a month for his.

The bolts and barrels are the main things that are superior. At Palmetto they are individually magnetic particle inspected and high pressure tested. Also, Del-ton does not have chrome lining and 1/7 twist available in all their barrels -- they don't have either in a 20", which is what I was interested in, and they don't have 1/7 twist in a mid length light weight, which is the only other one I would be interested in (I'm not a big fan of carbine length gas on a 16" barrel). Also they only warranty it if you buy a complete rifle, whereas PSA warranties their upper assemblies.

If the Del-ton was cheaper, there would be an argument for it. But since they are practically the same price, the PSA is a no-brainer.

If you want a complete rifle out of the box, the M&P Sport is great too. PSA and the M&P Sport are my top picks for best value.

Del-tons are accurate. A friend has a del-ton with the 20" inch barrel. Another friend has a 16" model. They both will hit a golf ball as far as I can see it with open sights. The 20" model has had 1000's of rounds run through it. The owner has a 25 gallon drum full of 5.56 ammo and his own private range in his backyard.

No you can't. They've been out of stock on everything for months now. I've been checking daily and calling periodically for one of their lightweight middy kits to build my wife's rifle. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

I just placed an order with KB Design & Mfr, though I'm a little uneasy about it now, since I couldn't reach them by phone when I wanted to change one thing about my order. We shall see........

I've had good luck with Del-Ton. good customer service, good products, I've been happy with them.
