Cabelas has announced that it will be opening a new store at the Christiana Mall in Northern Delaware sometime in 2014. This is good news for those that live in nearby states as Delaware has no sales tax.
There was supposed to be a Cabelas opening in Richmond VA...but that apparently died out about 3 years ago. It absolutely baffles me that there are non in the Southeast.
I have heard rumblings of non-compete agreements or outright stonewalling by Bass Pro Shops. The Bass Pro in Richmond is impressive as far as decor, and is not impressive at all as far as inventory. I loved the Cabelas in Hamburg when I stopped in.

3) The constant and annoying "pop" of four year-olds playing with the cork popguns will drive you insane.
Note that their ads are not reflective on what is in stock.
I have almost no use for Cabelas. My local gun store(s) will beat them silly on guns and hazmat items. For other reloading, Grafs has $6 shipping. Almost any item can be shipped to my front door for much less.
If I wanted Chinese or Vietnamese products with the Cabelas logo plastered all over them, they are good for that.
All this makes me kind of sad. I remember when they were actually a decent outfitter.
