Who has the best prices on 5.56 bulk ammo? Not picky, just needs to brass cased & fmj.

Thanks in advance.

It is out there, but you'll spend about $100 more than you did a year back.

I saw Surplus Ammo and Arms had some in stock.

Was at the gun show in Tampa 2 weeks ago and the ammo was going out the door in cases very quickly!
Fortunately I purchased a large amount before the rate hike.

Yep. Last winter, I got in on the Federal XM193, 1000rds for $269 shipped. A few months ago I got 1000 rds freedom munitions for $309.(good stuff, btw)

I've been buying more and more of my 223/5.56 ammo at Academy lately. I can get better prices online but some require you to fax a liscence over. Add shipping cost and its not really worth it. I just bought 240rds of Fedaral AE 223 at Academy and paid 90$. That's 37-38 cents a round. I can live with that. I really want to start reloading though.

Current ammo prices really make me appreciate my investment, years ago, in reloading equipment! I'm loading quality .223s @ around $.15 per round.

Thanks for the input guys. I ended up ordering a 1000 round can of 5.56 fmj red tip tracers for $299 from Cheaper Than Dirt. Almost went with some cheaper stuff but after reading the reviews, people were complaining if the primers falling off and damaging their rifles. Prob due to the ammo was dated in 86 lol.

i doubt it. if that ammo blew primers today, then it most likely would've blown primers when it was brand new back in '86. in terms of functioning properly, 26 years is not old for ammo.

Over the last 4 weeks, two shooting ranges I was in attendance at had grass fires started by someone shooting tracers.

I am well aware of the fire risks. The places I shoot are safe and allow tracer rounds to be fired.
