My latest acquisition is a Ruger M77 MkII in 7mm Rem. Magnum. I plan to reload for it. What is your favorite powder for 7mm RM?

I have used in the past IMR powders - 7828, 4350, and 4831

4831 with Sierra 160BT gave me the best accuracy, followed closely by the Nosler 160BT ;, 4350 was a close second; 7828 worked better with 175 gr Sierras

I have an older 700BDL

IMR 4350 love it, it loves my gun and IMR 7828 loves my gun too.

The IMR 4350 under a 139gr Hornady Interlock gives me around a .500" max spread in my groups.

R22 is my first choise followed by IMR7828 or H4831sc.
I have loaded the same bullet as jwrowland77 with R22 with good results, but he has me wanting to try IMR4350

I think I am done with Re22 and H4381sc.
I think I am done with 180, 175, 162, and 154 gr bullets.

No for me it is just H4350 for 120, 140, and 150 gr Ballistic Tips.

What are your experiences with the heavier bullets that makes you right them off?

4831sc works very well in my Ruger Mark II with heavier 160 & 175 bullets. Every rifle is different so good luck trying different powders for the bullet design and weight you chose. Shoot straight and often.

RL-22, Ramshot Magnum, and IMR 7828 SSC have been my favorites so far.

Clark, whats the issue your having with RE22? I load and also hunt with 120 gr. and up to 140 gr. bullets using RE22 and the accuracy has been superb, not to mention velocities. The 145 gr. bullets I've tried have pushed between 3300 fps and 3400 fps. and will hold sub MOA groups no problem. Varieties of Nosler and Speer have worked well, but not so much with Hornady offerings for some reason. The 120 gr. bullets of course have been screaming out there as well, but they seem to be lacking in penetration on mule deer.

I'm always searching for a better combination though, so I would appreciate and respect your experience and information.
