Tons of options in the .22LR world, and the Kel-Tec PMR-30 would make a good rimfire pistol in WMR. Don't know anything about .17HMR.

Seriously, though, do you really think they could outlaw all centerfire ammunition and still find it within themselves to leave rimfire stuff on the table?

You believe that the same restrictions that apply to centerfires won't apply to rimfires?

Were you asleep during the 1994-2004 ban? Have you tried to buy a high capacity 10/22 mag lately?

I think you'll see all of those cool Umarex .22's will probably fit the description in one way or another in thier new ban.

The desired end-result is that all guns are confiscated or banned. By doing what you propose you avoid nothing except reality.

I am so angered by this defeatist attitude that seems to infest a portion of the gun community. Ask other countries how their broad confiscation started. Give them an inch and they will take every gun you own.

Thought about .22 magnum, but not cause of any laws. Two weeks of panic and it's still at the local Wal-Mart and gun store untouched.

Perhaps that new Savage M42 in .22mag so I have something to shoot if the 22lr stash is depleted?

The only cartridge that's even likely to be attacked is the .50 BMG, and that's a tough sell, since there has never been a crime committed with a .50 BMG rifle in this country (at least not the last time I looked a couple years back).

It is far from a foregone conclusion. Congress isn't even in session right now. The ones yammering are the same ones who always do, and they're pushing the same agenda they always push. They're just getting a little more attention right now. Their momentum has already attenuated greatly now that people are calming down and thinking instead of just reacting. By the time the bill is ready for a floor vote, only those adamantly for or against gun control will be paying attention, and we outnumber the antis by a huge amount.

I'm with ya but when you find Hornady 22mag critical defense in stock somewhere, let me know.

Realism is that congress can't even agree on a farm bill, without which milk prices could reach $8 a gallon, let alone avoiding the "fiscal cliff"....

When the 1994 AWB went into effect, it included 25- and 50-round magazines for the 10/22, paratrooper folding stocks for the 10/22, etc.

Don't ever be deluded into believing that leftists will deem "X" to be untouchable.
