I finally got primers!!

I could go get 10,000 primers tomorrow morning If I wanted to pay $38/k, they are available locally for me, but everyone wants their weight in gold. Im happy I managed to squeeze in an order at PV for 7k srp(for use in both pistol and rifle) and 3k lpp on the 26th. tula for $20/k . hopefully they ship first thing next week. I didnt panic buy mine, I like to order 6 months worth at a time and had planned for months to buy some right after christmas when I had a few extra bucks laying around. for a minute there it looked like the panic buyers were going to ruin my long term plans, but I prevailed and will order once again in july!

I went into the local Walmart today and they had only 100 small rifle primers on the shelf. I bought them as that is what I wanted. I would have bought more. The clerk told me they usually sell out within a few hours of a new shipment.

Thank goodness for a little bit of foresight, I bought 4 bricks of primers right after the shooting just in case, now everybody is sold out! Just wish I would have thought to get a couple more pounds of 4350 for my 06 I am down to my last pound At leased I got a couple years worth of RL22, RL19, and Varget for my other rifles.

There are plenty around me at goofy prices but till this week were a lot at fair prices too. Picked up 10,000 assorted at one shop marked 30.99 per 1,000. When went to counter they adjusted price to 28 even. Got 6,000 at another shop at 34 per 1,000. Both had some left when I left. Another shop has all flavors and lots of them but repriced them to 42 per thousand. Nobody is buying at that price as the others still have and expect more. I got a pm from a guy on this site begging for small rifle. I got him 2,000 but he never called me back so let a local person have them since I have more than can use in 20 years.

I'm really hoping I will be able to find some SPP and LRP locally when I get home in two weeks. James2 Primers at Walmart?!?!? I have never seen any at mine but will have to ask if they can order them!

Yea, I keep reading about that on the net. My local WallyWorld has ammo, another in the next town over has long-guns. Neither have primers or powder though.

Sure would be nice.

Hungry1, Where in NC are you? I am only 1.5 hours from western NC mountains. 1.25 hours to Franklin. If close enough to meet can probably help if you are desperate. I have heard there are components in that part of the state though.

Will be getting my primer order from PowderValleyinc it looks like. I placed an order on 12-9 and received my invoice on 1-9. Only a small order but I'm lucky I guess to get the 4000 small rifle primers. I've noticed there are some primers at the local shops. May not find the brand you want but some pistol and rifle primers small and large exists.

I think it's funny that people think $38/1k is expensive. I've been paying that much from my lgs for the past couple of years. It's a small shop and I think I'm one of the few reloaders in the area, so he doesn't move much product. I don't mind though, I support the local business.

Glad you found the primers you needed. Hope things get back to normal in 4 to 6 months.
