those are some nice double barrels the very first gun I shot was a double barrel 20GA and I have always wanted one myself.

Nice guns. A friend had a 20 many moons ago and I really liked it, but I have not been able to find one with suitable stock dimensions ever since. Seems like all of them have way too much drop for me.

I've got a Browning SXS in 20 ga. I bought brand new about 1978 or so, and I haven't been able to find any info on it. It has a single selective trigger, and a really nice walnut stock, which does not appear to have any finish on it. I was unaware that Browning even made a SXS. I used it extensively for dove and quail out here. Nice little shooter. Those Fox Sterlinworth are some pretty nice looking shotguns.

Browning has had shotguns made in Belgium for a long time, as well as in Japan. The BSS was offered in several bore sizes and built on 12 and 20 frames, just like the O/U guns.

20 gauge versions from Japan are selling for around $2000 now, depending on condition. here's a site with ones for sale, so you can see how yours compares:

Very nice!....There's only ONE thing wrong it - it's missing a trigger!

Personally, I love the look and feel of double triggers on SxS guns with the straight English grip -it just "looks" right........

Browning U.S. headquarters are in Morgan, Utah, but they never manufactured a BSS there. There were four basic series, all made in Japan. The first series had a Silver colored non-selective single trigger. The second series had a gold colored selective single trigger (mechanical). They were available in the standard configuration with a pistol grip stock and a beavertail fore end, or Sporter configuration with a straight stock and a semi beavertail fore end. Towards the end they made some sidelocks in either Grade 1 or Grade 2 if memory serves. They are all quite well made guns in the American rather than the English style, although the sidelocks are little bit closer to English guns than the boxlocks. They now sell for about 4 to 5 times what they were selling for new, when production ended. I have a selective trigger Sporter 20 that I dearly love. My stock is a LOT darker, and with less figure, than the gun pictured above.

Eastbank - if you pheasant hunt, you're going to love that 16 Sterlingworth...(I know I certainly appreciated mine...)

Product of B.C. Miroku of Japan. Early guns were made and assembled in Japan while later ones were assembled in South Korea from Japanese parts. Both Anson & Deely and Holland & Holland type lock work guns were made. Yours is A&D BLE gun. Current SLE SxS offered by Browning is actually made by Lebeau & Couraly for them.
