It is great that you all are having such a huge impact on REED and the Eastern Outdoor and Sporting Show. REED prohibiting the display of modern firearms like the Remington R25 and others was a huge Anti miscalculation on their part and the boycott by exhibitors and sponsors is sending a huge message to them.

Ken called me tonight to ask if I news was on our local stations down here on it. I hadn't seen anything and there's not a lot of MSM coverage that googles so I figured we should work to get news of this out ourselves. How do we get the word about this out to all our local TV and radio stations that would support us so that more people than us and the locals in Harrisburg now about the boycott and the commitment of the hunting community to the whole shooting community?

I sent an email to the GM of the local TV station pointing out what was going on with the Eastern and contrasting it with the expected record crowds for a local gun show this weekend here. I also pointed out that over 80 people were lining up every Friday morning an hour before Gander opens the doors to try to get to the gun counter to purchase one of the ARs restocked each Thursday night.

I'm sure there are stories about firearms demand being through the roof in your locations that could be associated with the firearms community solidarity and the damage REED has done to the Eastern with their prejudicial treatment of modern rifle manufacturers and shooters.

This is why I give money to the NRA.

While the NRA-ILA is an excellent way to stand up for our Rights, I don't think they were involved in this were they? I believe Cabellas was the first to pull out of the show and soon after many other vendors did as well.

I just googled "NRA Reed boycott" and the NRA is getting most of the press, although you are correct that Cabelas was the first big sponsor/participant to pull out.

Of course, I've "given" Cabelas a bunch of money too, over the years.

The Left at Democratic Underground thinks this is terrible. They at first were soo excited that the group putting on the show was standing up to the "gun nuts" now it is the "gun nuts" who cased all the problem for the reasonable and sane hunters??????? I think they are missing something.

I think NRA waited before releasing to let the actions of the smaller companies to be louder.

Of course, the majority of the media went immediately to the 'blame the NRA for ruining it for everyone else." anyways.

Intelligence.

The question was "How do we get the word about this out to all our local TV and radio stations that would support us so that more people than us and the locals in Harrisburg now about the boycott and the commitment of the hunting community to the whole shooting community?".

This is something each of us has to do instead of waiting for someone to do it for us. If you don't personally engage in this struggle beyond spending money in the right, or wrong, places or hoping someone else does something we will find ourselves with this legislation rammed down our throats.

If you look at page six, at the bottom of the thread -

I linked to several posts from my local ABC and FoxNews affiliates. I live 20 minutes south of the ES&OS site venue. These were aired on the local news here yesterday. The ABC news link, there are many stories there. You may need to hunt around to find one you like.

E-mail some of those linked stories to your local news stations. Ask them why this hasn't reached your news yet.

This show sees about 250,000 people come from all across the mid-Atlantic, and some from points farther. My local economy is projected to lose $80 million in revenue from this. A businessman who owns 3 local hotels said in one of those stories, "This is like if you cancelled the SuperBowl today, 10 days out from the game. It's that big a deal to us, that's how much money it brings in."

a buddy of mine is a news director at a local talk radio station.

I will do my best to get him to report it and will try to get it to be a talk show subject.

BTW, a member inspired be to upgrade my NRA membership to benefactor and I bought my daughter a life membership. (she is young...w a long life ahead of her it seemed like a good buy:D)

Seemed an appropriate way to celebrate!!!
:D

The "assault weapon" ban lacks the votes too.

It is a great day!

I got the link to a PA Fox station covering the story to the local GM for the Fox affiliate here.

Awesome Mike!

I hope he runs with it.

If he want some contacts with any local businesses here who boycotted for an interview, call me.

Boycotters have the guts to stand up for what they believe in.
Stand up for gun rights and freedom now, or get totally snowballed by the anti-gun agenda.
