Glock Gen 3 vs Gen 4 help!

As to getting your $675 back, I'd surmise that depends on availability in your area and a finding potential buyer who wants the gun as badly as you did. The way I see it, as soon as it leaves the store it's a used gun and that's how I look at it as far as price goes.

$675 seems way high to me but location may have something to do with the price. Just today, at a local gun store here, Gen4 Glocks were $579 and Gen3 was $529. I got my Gen4 19 about a year ago for $549 with three hi-cap magazines.

If you wait till you sell the one you have now to get the other, it might be gone, then you will be back to square one. How long do you plan on keeping the glock? How much is $170 if you stretch it out over years an thousands of rounds. Enjoy what you have. Not to mention your Gen 4 came with 3 mags. If that other gen 3 is new, then it will only have 2 mags. mags are basically impossible to find right now

Or got nothing! I'm with TennJed, spread the $170 over the long run and it's not so bad.

I can still get new gen 4 for <$600 in Ohio. Some do prefer private sales though.

I would pay that for a Gen 4, if I genuinely thought I wouldn't get the chance to get another. But then, I seem to like Gen 4's more than most... maybe I'm alone in that camp...

Also, you're not going to be thinking "Ahh, geez... this damn thing cost me TWO HUNDRED more than a Gen 3 at the time!!" in 15 years when the gun is still going strong... If you do, you need to find something to do with your time!

Depending on the area, I've heard of Gen 4s going as high as $900 recently. Glocks have been hit very hard by the rush. I work for a dealer. None of our distributors have Gen 4s available at the moment.

I own and love a Gen 3, but I would love a Gen 4 more. The new recoil spring makes a difference. Enjoy it, sir. Great pistol!

Nope, its the first I can shoot well out of the box. The grip is just enough smaller to make a world of difference to me.

I've the Gen4 22 and picked up a Lone Wolf threaded 9mm conversion barrel to use it with my suppressor. Function has been 100% with both barrels and the Korean mags in both calibers. No recoil spring issues either. I paid well under $600 for mine but it was over a year ago.

The grip texture, grip profile, mag release... it's all I wanted from Glock long before the Gen 4's were even an idea. ONLY thing they could have done to make it 'the' perfect gun for my hand, is add a beavertail. Otherwise, the gun just "fits" better than any other pistol I've picked up thus far. I've got three of them, 5K rounds deep between the three, not one malfunction or brass-to-face. Mine are all made in 2012, so I missed the initial launch issues.
