I really like 1911's

These were shot with my brand new Desert Eagle 1911 (DE1911G). Not bad for the first few magazines of shooting. These were 8 shots each at 21 feet and measure 1 5/8" and 1 3/4". I'm really happy with this gun....the trigger is amazing, for any price, but ESPECIALLY for the price.

PS - Yeah, I'm a cheap a** when it comes to targets. :)

You're wasting $ on that orange paint.

I sold/traded my 1911s a few years ago due to ammo prices. A pal at the range a few months ago wanted me to shoot a clip through his to check the recoil of his reloads. I did, and now I've got two Springfields in the safe and some holsters on order. I had forgotten how much fun they are to shoot and how satisfying those groups can be.

Now if I can only build-up my ammo stash.......
 
Nice grouping! I can tell by your posting you've already caught the 1911 bug...... now that you have 1, you'll want a second, then a third and so on........ it's a slippery slope your on........... LOL

I started out with one, enjoyed it so much I got a second..... now up to 5

#3 - Kimber Grand Raptopr II (yes I like Kimbers)
#4 - Wilson Combat KZ
#5 - Sig 1911 Blackwater
#6 - ? probably a Colt......... its only a matter of time......

Love my 1911 too. Just got a Kimber Custom II starting out, that thing is crazy accurate, I can't even do it justice. Pretty soon you won't need orange paint, you can just sharpie a little 1" dot onto those paper plates.
 
I also have a DE 1911G and it's one of the most underrated 1911s out there. I got mine for $540 with about 80 rounds through it. I've put another 1200ish rounds without a single hick up. You're definitely right about the trigger, it's incredibly nice regardless of the price. I hear 1911s tend to multiply. I've already reserved a SR1911 Commander from a local gun store and keep eyeing an STI Guardian;)

Hahaha...that's not orange "paint" but orange circular labels (stickers to most folks). I work for a labeling company and I got a big roll of them for free. I bring them to the range and set them on the table and tell anyone who's there to take some if they want to....

Since Kahr (owner of Magnum Research) offers healthy discounts to NRA certified instructors, I got this one new for $550 ($520 plus $30 shipping), add $25 transfer fee for my FFL and it's in the safe for $575. GREAT deal for a really nice gun.

Nice groups and a nice looking Desert Eagle 1911 you've got there. I know I started out with one years ago and now I'm up to seven of them. Probably my all-time favorite semi-auto pistol design to shoot.
 
To put the size of the target into perspective, here's another picture with a quarter on the plate. Oh, this isn't my first 1911.....I can see where I gave that impression, but it's not. It's the only one I'm going to end up keeping though. I have an old Colt Sistema that I'm going to sell...don't really need two 1911's, really. I have a nice (small) collection, all shooters (no queens).

Wow, that is a retarded smoking deal. I can't think of a single gun that beats it for the price you paid. The only thing I don't like is the full length guide rod makes field stripping the gun a bit of a hassle.

What mags did it come with? Mine came with some ACT-MAGs people love to hate on but mines have been just as reliable as my CmC mags.

Mine came with 2ea 8-round Mec Gar magazines. I haven't used them much yet, but so far 100% reliable...no issues.

Not saying it's difficult but sometimes I spend some time trying to get the damn barrel bushing to spin lol.

Nope...made in Israel by BUL. It's a quality piece. There's a story how this was all spec'd out by Charles Daly and the manufacturer kind of stabbed him in the back somehow....not real interested in the story, but the gun was spec'd out based off of feedback from shooters on what they wanted. The slide action is SUPER smooth and tight! About the only thing that I'm not crazy about are the sights.....but my eyes aren't that good anymore, either. Hehe...

Yeah, that seems to be the biggest complaint. Actually, the roll marks don't bother me a bit. I don't notice them or CARE about them. Doesn't affect the trigger or function of the gun, BOTH of which are EXCELLENT. And if I STARE at it, it still doesn't bother me. I know some folks hate it, but I couldn't care less about it.

eh, a good bullseye gun will make those groups at 50 yards....

no, just kidding, that's good shooting. Seriously I would like to know how it benches at 50 yards. My STI Spartan shot 6" 10-shot groups from sandbags with match ammo at 50.
 
BUL gets their parts and frames largely from Tanfoglio. I would wager these were the same as the Tanfoglio 1911's on the market right now. I stepped back into the 1911 world with a Sistema I picked up Tuesday but haven't fired it yet.
 
Are they offering these without the massive desert eagle advertisement on the side? That aside, great looking weapon and groups!
