Bedside shotgun box that doesn't cost as much as the gun?

You could just go and purchase storage brackets yourself and install them under the bed for your shotgun.

Have you considered cutting out the drywall to that length and installing a recessed box with which to store it in? Some hings for a simple door, maybe like those cabinet doors you push so they pop open... The overall depth would only have to accommodate that of the mossy. Owning one I know its not that thick.

I think you are either going to have to become a little bit of a do it yourselfer or pony up the bucks. A friend made a simple wooden box that he bolted to the bottom of the bed.

I don't know of any really inexpensive options. If your bed is high enough off the floor, I suppose one of the smallest Homak or StakOn type lockers might fit under there.

How about one of those wheeled under bed plastic boxes that are sold at Wal and other marts in the plastic box area.You usually see these after xmas.

They were selling for $229.00 before they quit selling them. Looking at the door length with just one locking bolt in the center, my guess is that it wasn't that hard to gain access and they quit selling them until they improve the door. I bet it won't be $229.00 if it comes back sometime.

The Vline uses two keyed locks, one one each end of the door to secure it besides the push button lock in the middle. The problem is that when you lock the ones on the end, it's not quick access any more. Especially in the dark.

Any under bed storage box -- not necessarily with wheels.

Depending how your Persuader is configured (stock, grip, etc) you may have to modify the box or tape 2 together in a fashion.

Large diameter PVC or 4" drain tile may also work.

Why not just a clam shell plastic rifle case for $20.

Whatever you end up putting it in, there may be a potential for moisture/rust issues. So consider adding some desiccant packets and wipe the gun down with oil.

I think this is going to be one of those cases of $ or DIY ingenuity. Sometimes you spend more on the "extras" than the initial item. For example... I needed a new air compressor and found a discontinued one for $350 (regular price $800). I spent over $600 on a new air dryer, hoses, fittings, etc. to finish customizing everything. It's just how it is sometimes.

Think of it like this... you got a deal on the shotty, now you have more to spend on security/storage.

Perhaps something like a window valance. Just a shelf with fabric stapled to the edge. Tuck the gun behind the fabric.

You could build a head board with a flip down access door on each side. I foresee a problem reaching above your head, hurriedly and safely. If you put the muzzle to the center, it is facing your significant other, if you face the muzzle out, it is cumbersome to not only reach above your head but towards the center of the bed.

Mine has been like this for almost a yr, 10 months for sure, as long as the bed is made, which it is daily, no dust and no one will ever know it is there unless you enlighten them.



Possibly adapt one of these to under bed:

I agree with the plastic clam shell idea but with some modification. Take out the foam on the back side and find some of those peg board hangers to mount to the back. That's as easy as drilling a few holes. Then drill some holes in the top and zip tie it to your bed frame. When you pop the clasps it aught to fall open but the peg board hangers will leave your gun clinging to the back of the case and the zip ties keep it all hooked to your bed. Just what I got off the top of the dome. Whole thing would likely be under $50 but it would yet again require a bit of DIY and would also be ugly as sin.

Hmmm.... why not just put the gun under the covers if you have a large enough bed? It keeps the dust off it and gives you something to cuddle if you're single.... oh wait

They seem nice, but I think $1299.00 and up eliminates it from her requirements.
