SIG P226 Elite SAO

Been trying to locate various Sigs for a while now, hit or miss out of their warehouse lately.

What's the advantage (or difference other than cosmetic) of getting an elite Sao over a non-elite Sao model? Is there a different Sao set up in the elite?

True, I'm thinking p220, but will the elite have a different Sao system (might be too early to answer that)

I'd be fine with a "non-Elite" SAO P226, but there is no creature I can find. Since the "Elite" SAO P226 is still considerably less costly than the X-series SAO in 9mm, I'll take what I can get.

I really like the new CZ system of interchangeable decocker/safety setup and the H&K/FN-style all-in-one safety-decocker combo that allow "cocked-and-locked" mode of carry and wish all the other pistol makers adopted that setup.

Have you looked into the X5 Tactical? Its considerably less than some of their other X models... (1500-1600 on Gun Broker right now)

That's still about $500 more than P226 Elite SAO, meaning about 50% higher cost than the latter. Since I am not a professional gunslinger, I doubt paying $500 more will make a difference in my case, as I am likely incapably of deriving the accuracy benefit of the X-5 Tactical.

I DO, however, shoot SAO guns better than DA/SA guns.

Why SAO instead of DA/SA?
Love my new P226 Elite Dark
It's just what I am used to and shoot well. I like the consistent trigger pull from the all-important first shot to the subsequent shots. I like having a manual safety. I also prefer the typically lighter trigger pull. Just comes down to personal preference and experience, I guess.

Funny enough, the handgun I shot absolutely the best was Beretta 92 Centurion despite the fact that it handled like a brick and I do not have big hands. Once the sights were regulated, I was able to nail the bullseye at 25 yards and get pretty good groups. BUT that was in "target" shooting context when I had all the time in the world. When I shot the Beretta "practical" style, I was awful at it and did much better with a CZ-75 or an H&K 40C (used in the "cocked and locked" mode).

I suppose with enough training and dedication, I can learn to handle the DA/SA trigger well, but I am too lazy. :)
