I was wonder if any one has used this powder for 308? And if so could you share your loading data? I could not find any data on hodgdon. I use this powder for my 30-06 and I asked my local gun shop if this powder is fine to use in 308 and they said yes but could not give me any data.

Call Hodgdon and ask them. They're very helpful.

Chances are, if it isn't listed on their website, they haven't tested that load, but they may be able to give you guidance. I wanted to load 9mm Hornady 147 gr XTPs with WSF, which wasn't on their website, but they pointed me in the right direction.

Thanks I will give them a call this week

Hodgdon might be able to give you data for it but chances are they're going to tell you it's too slow burning for .308. In my experience there's 3 reasons why they don't list caliber/powder/bullet combos. 1. They just haven't tested it yet in which case they won't have data for it but they might help you brainstorm a safe starting point. But they won't make an "official" recommendation. 2. They couldn't find a safe load, in this case they won't give you any data. 3. They found it to be a very poor performing, but probably safe, combination.

I think that Hodgdon is going to tell you they haven't tested it because its on the slow side for .308 or that they've tested it and it didn't perform well. But call them up, they're pretty helpful.

If I were you I'd try to get my hands on something between Benchmark and Reloder17 on this chart http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html

I don't know from personal experience but I would think that superformance would be a little slow burning for a 308, I think it winds up in the RL19 range, my experence with the 308 is it likes medium burn rate powders like Varget, RL15 and W748, anything in the 4350 or slower range shoots like crap in my rifle.

They offer factory loaded 308 ammo with Superformance powder. But... it is also my understanding that they have different formulas of the Superformance powder and not all is available to reloaders. I read that on the internet, so take it for what it is worth.

I've not tried re-loading with their powder, but did try the 308 and 30-06 factory loads. The 308 loads were about 40 fps faster than I have been able to reproduce with my handloads and with acceptable accuracy. About 2920 fps. They claim 3000 with 150's. I can get 2880 with my handloads and get better accuracy, so I haven't bought any more. But I think the potential is there if some good loads can be found.

The 30-06 ammo I tried was also a lot slower than advertised and shot poorly in my rifle. My handloads match it for speed, and with far better accuracy.

I almost bought a pound of it about a month ago because it was the only thing available on local shelves. The lack of 308 data is the main reason I did not. Most of the common powders are in stock locally now, so I'm glad I didn't.
