I looked at the article, so they are not moving from another state. Rather they will just start up operations in Fort Smith from what I gather? It's great news...I see they didn't pick New York, Connecticut or Colorado.

Maybe coming to Arkansas is more accurate. I guess it depends on where you are from, and/or how much coffee you have had in the day. :)

Wonder if that increases my chances of actually finding a ppqM2 chambered in 9 with the 5" barrel ?

I'll say it. I am an Arkansan!

WELCOME TO ARKANSAS!

Now I might add a PPK/S.22 Nickle to go with my Bersa Thunder 380.

Umm. No. Being from Aba-Lam-a I figured you ment to spell it wrong. So let me correct you.

Woo Pig Sooie

:)

When I was just a lad going to college in Atlanta, Lewis Grizzard was still just a sportswriter for the Atlanta Journal. He once wrote this about a game between UGA and Arkansas that was played in Fayetteville:

"If your only experience with the people of the great state of Arkansas was at a University of Arkansas football game you might get the impression the only things they know how to say are "Woo pig, sooie" and "Anybody here got a set of jumper cables?"" :D

(Note: I can say that because all my family comes from down around El Dorado...)

Congratulations, Arkansas. It's good to see more firearms manufacturers/importers/distributors locating in the southeast.

Well. El Dorado. That explains a lot.

LA as we like to call it. Nothing wrong with El Dorado folk. Got a buddy who goes there to visit his family often. I hunt in Magnolia, well outside Magnolia about 15 miles toward Prescott sometimes. Lots of deer to be killed in South Arkansas.

Holey Cow!! This is really going to add to the DNA in Arkansas! I'm proud for you Arkies!

Now we have an Aggie in the mix. If'n we can be even more unlucky a Long Horn.. Jeez. They really come out when it's time to step on Arkansas. The only state with all the natural resources the United States has to offer in one state. By the way. That Benjamin Crowley guy and I are related.

Good luck coming to the SEC, AGGIE. I wonder if Johnny Football will walk the walk next year? I see the Long Horns were scared to come over to the SEC. They had to stay where they were safe.

P.S.

As a fun note. Way off topic. I called Pig Trail Harley the day after Patrino's wreck on his bike. I offered to buy it as is. They couldn't because it was part of evidence for the wife or some mess. I tried though.

I think you are talking about LA. That is Lower Arkansas. See Eastern, Central, and West/NW are way beyond what most of the country in edjamucation.
Seems there might have been a Fort somewhere that played a huge roll in some wars that were fought on this here perty land.
They might even have metal birds that spit fire these days. Oh Yeah! We have had lecktricity for sometime now. In phact I am typin on a lecktric skreen tat goze to da wall. Fancy.

Will this get around the PPK import ban?

The PPK is no longer made. Here or in Germany. The PPK/S is made in the United States by Smith and Wesson. So their is no more import restriction on it.

I first heard about Walther moving plants to the US in 2010. Got all excited and giddy that parts and magazines won't be as hard to find. Last time I bought a 12 round .40S&W P99 magazine it ran about $65 without shipping. And that was several years ago before the current situation.

Walther plant

They are building the plant if I understood it right in conjunction with the umarex plant here in Fort Smith. Hope air is not the only power plant they produce here.

I wouldn't mind having a ppk/s.22 in nickle.

Well, if I have to send my PPS in for an oil change, ill be able to drive up and visit them if its slow coming home. Don't get me started on El Dorado Arkansas or the hogs.

Ok, just one little thing . . . I may still have a few "Dammit Bobby!" T-shirts if any of my razorback friends want one.

Lol

IIRC the magazines are made by Mec-Gar anyways, so regardless of where Walther sets up its plants they're coming from Italy.

You can also tell that its a markup, because MOST mags made by MecGar that are actually branded by them run in the $20-25 range. Since they're the OEM though Walther probably wouldn't take kindly to MecGar selling P99 mags under their own name.

Check for used mags sometimes though on sites like Gunbroker. I've gotten a few for my SW99 in .40S&W (same mags) for under $20 each used.
