They make one that is, and it has a compartment in the butt plate to hold an additional mag.

I have their Sporter model with the maple stock, topped with a Zeiss Conquest, and it shoots as good as it looks. Love the straight pull action.

I really like my CZ american 16 inch threaded... Although ya could likely flip a coin and be happy with either..

The CZ is undoubtedly a great rifle.

But, the T-Bolt is way cooler!

Especially after watching the Biathlons on TV last winter.

I really want a straight-pull bolt action rifle now!

Both would be good choices.

The 455 would give you the option of changing barrels to different calibers if you wanted a threaded HMR, WMR or HM2 somewhere down the road.

MANY years ago I bought a Browning T-bolt, and it's been a good 22. The coolness factor of a T-bolt just can't be beat!

The current T Bolt is no doubt a well made little rifle.
And it is a LITTLE rifle; the green (Why?) one with threaded barrel, weighs 4 lb 9 oz.
They advertise a "full size stock" though.

I have not shot one of the new ones, but a friend has one of the original type.
It takes a firm pull on the straight pull handle to disengage the locking block and get the bolt on the way back. You can't ladyfinger it like you can a well broken in turnbolt.

I was going to recommend the Russian made Biathalon Basic but the darned thing has been jacked up to $1200! Those were ugly but accurate $300 rifles, but this is ridiculous. Even rediculous.

I have the 455, but I had to get my 22 lr barrel cut down to 16" and threaded after the fact. It is very quiet and very accurate with a can attached. The Browning T bolt looks and feels like a great little rifle, but the real advantage of the 455 is the ability to have multiple barrels. I have all three calibers for mine, and am planning on getting the 17 hmr barrel threaded next for suppressed rabbit hunting.

I don't know how quiet you want to be. I've never used a silenced rifle. But I do have the long barrel CZ452 Ultra Lux and with SV ammo the thing is extremely quiet.
