Pic of new single stack Glock 9mm leaked (G43). Seriously this time

I have to also interject that I'm a bit ambivalent about single stack nines in general. I keep looking for the "perfect" one but I'm torn about actually carrying one. For example my Beretta Nano has been an exceptionally good gun for me. No failures of any kind through almost 2,500 rounds now. It's easy to shoot and easy to conceal. Carried +1 with the long mag it gives me 9 rounds of 147gr +P Federal HST on target, and another 8 rounds on my belt. Yet when I do carry it I find myself wishing it was my HK P30s or VP9.

No matter how nice the single stack nine I guess on some level I will always prefer a full sized (or close to it) service pistol.

Me too. But OTOH, I don't carry a full size 9 in my pants, either. When I do carry, it's a small 380 that I have to admit I don't get much practice with.

I am sure this Glock with have some snap to it, and I probably won't shoot it much, either. But I hope the trigger will break like my other Glocks, and I will get practice by proxy.

It's a Glock. For some that's awesomeness. For me it's a weird feeling gun.

Besides, I've got a single stack nine that suits me well.
Same here!
I just can't get past the weird (to me) grip angle.
If all I had were Glocks I'm sure I'd adapt- but I own many other pistols all with more "normal" grip angles :)

I will admit that the 42 felt really good in hand when I handled it in the gun shop, but Glocks just don't do it for me. I might look at it down the road. I really, really like my Beretta Nano though. Even if it has a trigger that requires more of a decisive squeeze (which I prefer in a carry piece), I like it much better than the Glock trigger. I do wish it was bladeless though.

That said, I'm sure the single stack Glock will be reliable and sell well.

Sounds like Glock is a little late in the game for a lot of people. While not being a Glock fan, I'll admit that I really like the way the 42 feels in the hand, but despising the .380 round I went with the M&P Shield 9mm. With the Apex trigger and night sights I already have over $200 invested in my Shield and a good IWB holster for it. So I see no point in switching to a downgraded version of something I already have and am familiar with - just another single stack 9. They should've released the 43 at the same time as the 42 and would've had a much better entry into the market. Might have even gotten my first Glock if they had.

I would like to see a Glock single stack midsize 45 with a more narrow grip/slide. The 42 is already too big FOR ME as a pocket pistol. I am sure the 43 in a single stack 9 (if that is what it is?) would be slightly larger than he 42.

They will still sell as many 43's as are available for months to come.

It remains to be seen if Glock will sell a " BaZillion" of them. There are so many excellent Conceal carry nines in the marketplace now that have captured this niche , that other than its name, it may be more difficult for Glock.

I will certainly take a look at it when it hits the shelves. I liked the 42 when it came out but have become disenchanted with .380 lately. I sold my last .380 and got a single stack 9mm a few months ago. I noticed that the 42 had a heavier trigger than the larger models for some reason. I suspect the 43 will follow suit.

The smallest 9mm I have is a Sig P225, I haven't been able to find another small 9 that I can shoot as well as this Sig, although the Walther CCP now has my attention. I could never get along with the 26 & 27 Baby Glocks, both my Glocks are 17 & 21 full size 9 & 45 calibers, which is pretty much how I roll with pistols in general, and I'll keep these forever. But I'd like to shoot one of these 43's along side the Walther CCP once this is released!

It's a Glock. It'll work - it'll sell well. I think a lot of people are just not excited because this is a product Glock should have had out years ago. We all knew what it would look like - we finally now just have a "Yeah, we're gonna make it.".

Well, the Keltec and Kahr's were around forever. Then the PPS. Then the LC9. Then the Nano. The Shield. You could have said the same thing about any number of them.
other than its name
Well, other than the design, itself, Glock brings name/reputation, a well-oiled distribution network, a large marketing budget, and its production capabilities. Look what Ruger did by making a Keltec clone. Glock is making a GLOCK. As long as it performs as we expect it to, it is going to sell just fine.

If it's a single-stack 9mm service pistol you want, Colt offers some very nice ones... ;)

Having my .380, 9mm, .40, and 10mm pistols all share a very similar feel and trigger pull is a big plus for me. When the G42 became available I sacrificed the extra power of my PF-9 9mm for a less powerful G43 .380 because having similar firing characteristics is more important to me. If I was an M&P shooter I would by a Shield, but I am not so I will probably buy a G43 that will often replace my G42. I don't see how anyone could doubt that Glock will sell a boat load of G43s despite there being many other comparable small 9mms.

I don't have a crystal ball but I suspect that every Glock fanboy who owns a small single stack nine, and there are a lot of them out there, will be selling their Shield, Nano, LC9, G42 and rushing out to be the first kid on the block to own a G43.

Exactly. While they're late in the game for a lot of ppl with other single stack 9's, the Glock fanboys will be coming out of the woodwork to get them as soon as the 43 hits shelves

Having found the G19 to be about the perfect Glock, I think the single stack might end up being a little too narrow.

Having pocket carried a G26 for a decade, this new offering appears to have a longer grip, and for me, that's a deal breaker. A short overall height is what makes a pocket pistol easier to draw. Once you make the grip longer, you lose that advantage. At that point it becomes an IWB/AIWB/OWB proposition.

With today's "slim fit" fashions ruining things for the CCW holder, a single stack gun is welcomed, but I don't think this new G43 will be replacing my Kahr CM9 as an everyday pocket carry.

If this turns out to be the same size as a Kahr CM9/PM9, then I'll eat my words and give the G43 some serious consideration. I'd prefer the Glock trigger over the revolver-like Kahr system, even though I have found the latter to be workable.
