Thanks everyone I knew what ya’ll were going to say but I just had to ask. Will continue to trim. My trim length is 1.752. I hate trimming except when building match loads for the other rifles.

    Case length for 223

I’m am currently loading a large quantity of 223. I am using once fired 5.56 military brass with varying head stamps that I picked up off a range back in 94 or so. The brass measures 1.758 to 1.768 after full length sizing. My Lyman book calls for a max length of 1.760. I have been trimming...

    Which Reloading Manual

Max case length 223 I have a lot of 5.56 military ammo that I’m loading for my AR 15. This is a mixed lot of head stamps once fired. I picked this brass up off the range in the late 80s. The case lengths range from 1.758 to 1.768. My old Lyman load manual shows the max case length for a Rem 223...

    RCBS

The following is a email I sent and received from RCBS. Think I will be buying more RCBS stuff from now on. I have a RCBS 223 2 die set. I have lost the screw on part for the decapping pin that holds it in. If I order your 9802 - EXP decapping unit .223 will this replace the decapping...

    Roll Crimp

Well ya’ll have surely given me a lot to think about. I haven’t had any problems with my reloads jamming (yet) hopefully I won’t. What I have gathered so far is that it is not really necessary to crimp the 223 and that I may be just asking for trouble by crimping? I will research the use...

    Roll Crimp

Thanks for the great advise and picture. I am trimming all my cases for these loads. My trimmed length is 1.750. I have a L.E. Wilson case gauge and use it. I do not have a separate roll crimp die. Just my RCBS 2 die set. It says to seat the bullet to desired depth then back off the...

    Roll Crimp

This is what I’m working on, Military 223 cases. I am trimming all cases and using the Dillon super swagger on the primer pockets. Using 55 grain jacked BT bullet with H322 powder and CCI primers. I am loading 5000 of these stored in stripper clips and bandoleers in ammo cans. This is going...

Here in NW Arkansas at the Sportsman Warehouse. They have no rifle or large pistol primers, very little powder etc. The shelves are mostly empty. They don’t even have much left in the reloading equipment side. Been thinking about driving over to Bass Pro in Springfield so I can just get some...
