    Favorite 44 Magnum loads

44 Mag Loads H-110/WW296( same powder) from Speer #8 Manual makes my day. I've shot S&W M29s, Ruger Super Black Hawks, Ruger Deer Stalker 44 Rifles, and Marlin 1894s with loads from this manual. It is hotter than later issues(less lawyer BS). My Super BlackHawk 180 gr Sierra JHC load is 1700...

What .38 load to minimize chamber fouling

Some newer posters have better ideas-loading since 1970-I found Unique and 2400 to be very dirty, as was Herco. My Best 38/357 loads were with H110/230P and SR 4756(Speer #8)

    Reloading .44 Magnum

Bite the bullet and look to Cheaper-Than -Dirt, Cabelas, Hornady, Brownells(#1)- for a quality reloading press set up. Outlay will be under $300 for everything you need. That one cost will cover everything but dies and shell holders for the rest of your life. My set-up was bought in 1970...

44 magnum loads & 240gr lead bullets?? My best loads for my 44 rifles (Win 94 Lever and Ruger Deer Stalker) and pistols (S&W M29 and Ruger Super Blackhawk) use WW P230 and H110(Same Powder) 2400 and Unique were very dirty in my guns, no matter what primer I used. Remington 700

Rem 700 Trigger I love Rem 700 rifles, have several. A sub .50 MOA Rem HB Varmint Rifle in .223 circa 1973 is a favorite. My 1981 700 ADL 25-06 is also sub MOA and has taken scores of deer without issue ever. Case in point-My Rem 700 Classic in 221 Fire Ball-Trigger issues! My good friend has...

    Rem-Oil?

My State Police agency traded 30 yr old Rem 870s for new 14" Rem 11-87 Semi-auto shot guns. Biggest FUBAR ever! The cases of gratis RemOil just gummed up the works, guns failed to cycle low-recoil )) Buck loads as promised-REM Reps said use 2 O-rings! NOT !. Platform is a POS nightmare...

I made my first shot shells tonight!!!

Not much reply here-you are going to need more than a handgun shot shell load to hunt squirrels! Stick to snakes in 10' for those. Get the boy a shotgun!

    Reloading Manuals Question

Best advice is start somewhere below that max load posted( % based on your goal) and work up to where you get what you want or don't want. I have manuals from the 70s to today and most have all gone lower in charges with the same powders over the years. Lawyer crap!

    44 magnum question

My favorite 44 Mag loads use H110/Win 296. They need magnum primers. I tried Unique and 2400. using both primers but found those powders to be very dirty in my revolvers and rifles. The ball powders are much cleaner and accurate for me.

Range Report & a Split Case

I've had some 357s split at the case mouth over the years as an H110/P296/SR4756 loader, but the cases were reloaded several times. I have had most splits in 25-06 rounds using 30-06 cases necked down splitting in the neck. Just splits, no bad experiences. Been loading 40+ years.

    military pain in the BRASS

I was going to tell you that I was happy with a RCBS inside/outside neck reamer to manually remove the crimps from GI brass I reloaded for 40 yrs+ with excellent results but you mentioned 10K rounds-never mind. I reload in small batches for personal hunting/plinking weapons striving for best...

    Shooters from Alabama?

Contact Holcomb Kearns at the Gun Works-334-415-0998. He is a very good gunsmith and may know of a site. Also try your local Sheriff Office Range Officers in Elmore/Montgomery/Autauga Co. They may allow civilians to use the range if no classes are scheduled. Be sure to make sure you mention...

What do you think of your CZ-75?/ Canik 55's?

Read the same article in AR. Short story-LEO for 4 decades/shooter/loader same time-have shot CZ75. Canik 55 is a CZ75 copy which is a Browning High Power Copy. BHP wins, carried 3 as LEO, more 1911s. But if I had be a 9mm-BHP would be it!
