What happened to the 1911 Handloading forum?

A lot of people are saying that the data that Clark posts is not for newbies, and this is true, but who in their right mind would jump onto the forum, find his data, and go do some loading? Any data posted is not for newbies. The newbies must do much reading on the forums, and in the manuals...

    Clean burning powder for 9mm

I also use AA#5 for 9mm behind a 147 gr Zero JHP. I find it to be a very accurate load, and it doesnt burn too dirty. Plus it meters dead on every time. What load do you use?

    Meister vs Hunters Supply Bullets

I have loaded probably around a thousand or so of the Meister bullets. I used the .452 230 gr. I found the consistency to be excellent. They are not sticky either , and load very nicely. If I wasnt starting to cast my own bullets, I would be sticking with the Meister bullets. Best of all is...

    Portable Handloading Setup--Which One?

My bench is by no means the most portable, just an option for apartment dwellers. My bench I got at Sears, and it is the Craftsman brand of the workmate type bench. I couldnt be happier with it.

    Portable Handloading Setup--Which One?

Heres a picture of my bench in my apartment. Quite heavy with all of the components on the bottom shelf. It works very well.

    Portable Handloading Setup--Which One?

What is an arbor press? Anybody have pictures? For my portable setup, I have a Lee challenger press mounted to a piece of wood that I can clamp to a table anywhere. Nice and sturdy when clamped too. I also have a Lee powder measure mouted on a similar size piece of wood that I can bring...

The Best Way to Cast for .45 ACP!

I will be starting to cast soon for my .45 acp, and I will be casting lee's tumble lube 200 gr SWC bullet.

    1 ogive radius

I am shopping for a bullet mold, and I have been considering the 230 gr Lee tumble lube bullet. On their website it says it has a 2 ogive radius. Lee also makes a conventional style bullet with a 1 ogive radius that is 228 gr. I have no idea what this means. By looking at the pictures of the...

    Tumble Lubing: Yea or Nay?

Does it take more applications of the lube to lube the conventional bullets, vs the TL bullets? If not, then why do they make the TL bullets?

    223 ar & 2230

Lymans 48th manual has data for a 63 gr Jacketed SMP bullet, seated to an OAL of 2.260. Starting charge of AA2230 is 23.5 gr with a max of 26.1. These yield velocities of 2926 and 3250, respectively. The manual also has this listed as potentially the most accurate load of the powders they...

    223 ar & 2230

A few days ago, I shot a .8" 5 shot group at 50 yards using a front bag rest, and iron sights using 2230. This is by no means extraordinary, and Im sure I can bring it down if I try again with this load. I only had 20 rounds loaded up. I used 21.8 gr of 2230, LC brass, Remington 7.5 primers...

    incorporating powders, trying new ones.

I use 2 powders mainly. I load for .223, .45 acp, and 9mm. I use AA2230 for .223, and AA#5 for 9mm and .45 acp. I also have a pound each of Clays, and Unique. I really like the Clays for light recoiling loads in .45 acp.

    Bulk .224 bullets vs.more expensive

I have fired some of the Winchester 55gr FMJBT, and I havent been too impressed with them. I have since fired some of the Hornady 68 gr BTHP Match bullets, and I am liking these very much.

slow verses fast powders verses barrel length

"but simply put whatever is fastest out of a 6" tube is fastest out of a 2 " tube" After reading the above posts, this doesnt appear to be the case, unless I am misunderstaning something. If this slower powder did not reach its max pressure in the 2" barrel, then wouldnt the faster powder...

    Progressive Press?

Peter wrote a great review on the RCBS Pro2000. If I were to get a progressive press, it would be this one. Graf's has it on closeout for $300.
