    Where to get lead ?

Try your local car repair shop. I know someone who went to one and bought an entire bucket of wheel weights.

    Turkish Mauser pitting

I have a 1941 Turkish K Kale marked Mauser with pretty bad pitting. I'm not sure if it's safe to shoot. I don't plan on shooting it a lot, but I do want to shoot it. It doesn't have much pitting anywhere else but the barrel. It has some pitting here and there, but this is the worst of it...

    Local gun buyback

There's going to be a gun buyback in Seattle. I was thinking about bringing in a couple $50 worn out, un-fixable, jams every other shot, old 10/22's for a couple $100 gift cards. ....But while I'm there, I might just buy a couple guns too. I heard horror stories about people who try to buy...

Wanye is out of his mind

I'm with Wayne on this one. People spending hours a day going "KILL KILL! DIE! STAB STAB!" for almost their whole life isn't good. http://www.ithp.org/articles/violentvideogames.html This talks about the effects of violent games on people.

    Lee Enfield VS M1 Garand?

@Fishbed77 Wow! Amazing rifle! From all these replies, I think I'm going to go with a M1.

    Lee Enfield VS M1 Garand?

I was going to order it from CMP, and include a sticky note asking for USGI wood. From what I hear, people always get good rifles. I live way too far away to ever go directly to their store.

    Lee Enfield VS M1 Garand?

I want it mainly for shooting, and I also love its historical significance.

    Lee Enfield VS M1 Garand?

I have a choice between getting a service grade M1 Garand from CMP or a Lee Enfield, and I'm not sure which one I should get. From people who have one or the other, or who have experience shooting any of them, which one do you feel has the better accuracy, reliability, etc? People tell me...

    Gun shows aren't all ripoffs

Just the other day I picked up a Enfield No. 4 Mk. 2 in mint condition for $200.

    Ordering from CMP

I am thinking about ordering a field grade M1 Garand from CMP, due to the amazing price. The only problem is, I saw that you have to take one of their classes, or a shooting class that they recognize. There's no classes near here, nor do I want to take one. I remember reading somewhere that...

Cook County considers 'violence tax' on guns and ammo

If they have a violence problem, they need more guns. Meth is illegal, the average Joe doesn't know how to get it, but criminals do. All gun regulation will just turn us all into sitting ducks. Guess you didn't need me to tell you that.

    Good trade?

I have a chance to trade my blond Enfield No. 4 Mk. 2 for a nice matching Nazi Walther P-38. I'm thinking about doing the trade, but I'm not sure. If anyone out here has a P-38, information about the pistol would be very helpful. Any advice would be appreciated.
