Not Scientific but my 351pd put one through a 4x4 and stuck in the board behind it.( cci solid) The 3" LCR has an easier trigger but i believe only 6 rounds.
I pratice only DA. I'm actually a better shot DA then SA.
If you practice DA you can get very good and its faster than SA.

Even from the hip you have to hold onto them. I saw a guy smash his mouth from the hip. It was the barrel that hit his mouth and The gun landed next to him.
I carry a j frame IWB at 1;30 its perfect for me. I've bought about 6 holsters.
some a little high some a little low. Ended up having to make my own.
After ALOT of trial and error. I comfortably wear it even mountain biking. (hammerless)
