    A first semi-auto for a wheelgunner

Thatnks for the G26 tip. Having thought about it, I don't want to place too much importance on the slide issue which only occurred with one greasy weapon. Another one functioned very well in freezing temps on the range, and thats what really counts.

    A first semi-auto for a wheelgunner

I recently got my CHL :D and although I carry a wheelgun I used a Glock 17to qualify. This was also the first time I'd used a semi. Half way through qualification I realised I was point shooting, and I really took to that Glock. My one problem was that with the over-use of gun lube and my clammy...

    Winter Carry?

Very interesting, Pezo. I'll have to take a look at the Box of Truth site. Thanks for the replies. Maybe I will switch to pocket carry with a big enough jacket, as Jeb suggested. It s good to hear that my 357 will continue to serve me well.

    Winter Carry?

I live in a warm state at the moment but will be moving to one with a real winter. I carry a 357 loaded with 38+p rounds. How will I need to adapt for bulky clothing and extreme cold? Will a 357 round penetrate sufficiently (those Korean War stories spring to mind)? Any problems with revolvers...

    Which semi-auto?

Thanks for the ideas so far. I just added the Mini 30 to the mix.

    Which semi-auto?

Which semi-auto? Ruger, AK, Saiga? I'm trying to decide on a semi-auto rifle (I have one or two others but no semi-autos, and nothing in 5.56 or 7.62x39). My budget is low, ideally cost would be around $500 (new or used - yes most likely used). It should be reliable, reasonably accurate, and...

    Transfers to UK?

This is probably one for the UK members... Is it possible for an individual in the US to sell or transfer a rifle (not semi-automatic) to an FAC holder (via a dealer) in the UK? If so, what would the procedure be? Is it prohibitively expensive?

TX, NM, CO - knife carry

I have a great little Kershaw folder, with a blade less than 3", which is great for carrying around. As far as I can tell, I'm fine in TX, but I wanted to see if anyone can tell me if I'm going to be okay while in NM and CO. I got the impression that it dosnt count as a concealed weapon because...

Ithaca 37 Police - should i buy it?

It wasn't so much a straight choice between the two, but a fine gun at a too-good-to-be-true price :scrutiny: it's okay, though - win some, lose some.

    Mossberg 590 for $199

Ithaca 37 Police - should i buy it?

A few hours too late :( At $200 it wasn't going to last long. Thanks for the info, though!

Ithaca 37 Police - should i buy it?

I've seen an old Ithaca 37 for sale for less than a new Maverick 88. Its supposed to be in good working order but has some cosmetic blemishes - can I go wrong with this?

Car Carry in CO, NM, TX

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I printed this off: http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/USRVCarCarry.pdf I'll probably add some others to the collection. I try not to be noticed and have never been stopped, but it only takes one encounter to screw up a trip, so I like to be prepared :)

Car Carry in CO, NM, TX

Last year I asked the DPS in each state if it was legal to keep a loaded weapon in the glove box of my vehicle. Only NM actually seemed happy to allow this, although none said "no". My memory is a little fuzzy - I seem to remember the "travelling" law allowed this, whether driving on a long trip...
