I agree
It's ridiculous. Guns in the car are so complicated in Ohio. We have to tell a police officer if we're carrying when pulled over and half of them are surprised and call in a supervisor.
Hi All, I'm driving from Ohio to Florida through Ky, Tn, Ga. All stated accept my license except Ga. Is it true that I can carry loaded and accessible in the glove compartment in Ga without a recognized license?
Hi all, I shot my S&W 39-2 at the range today and noticed that my decocker lever broke off and took half of the rolling safety piece out with it. Any idea if I can get this part and if so how do you take apart the slide? I can field strip it but this is something different. GREAT gun, I'd hate...
Two questions:
I just scored a box of Winchester 9mm+p 100Gr Ranger FrangibleSF ammo. I own a Taurus 709 "Slim" and a S&W 39-2.
1: There has been much written on these forums regarding the 709 not being compatible with +P but the Taurus catalog states all of their firearms are +P safe except...
Hi all, I have a couple of questions...
When I chamber a round it sounds like something rattles around in there. Doesn't happen empty. Still happens when I drop the mag. Is this normal for this old gun? Also, I've been on a fruitless search for a concealable holster for this relic. Anyone have...
I know this will start a flaming thread from 1911 lovers but if you're in doubt then carry something striker fired or with a decocker. This is why I sold my 1991A1. That, and only old farts carry 1911's :)
Seriously though, I learned after buying my Taurus 709 "Slim" that it's technically SA...
I checked out the decocker on mine and when engaged the FP pushes slightly IN (towards the primer). I've decocked at the range with no problems but this seems counter intuitive...
Hi all, I picked up an old model 39-2 at my local gun shop and was wondering what the consensus is. Should I carry this? I heard that the decocker on this model doesn't move the FP out of the way and was unreliable but that could be a bad rumor. Maybe newer models are safer???
Hi All, I have an Ohio permit. Does anyone know if it's legal to carry at the Lexington Opera House? We'll be getting out of a concert late at night...
I'm on board with all above. I posed the question because I know someone who uses this as a revolver justification, (easier to get used to). That's probably another thread!
I also have the 709. I think the safety is there because this gun is actually a SA gun. The slide racking cocks the FP. Hence the safety...
Just curious, does your finish seam a little thin? Mine is wearing off around the ejection port after <200 rds.
Thanks WEG. For those who carry, does the material applied to the outside ever effect your holster material? I had a great CCW class but some of the practical points for those of who know guns but not carrying them were left out...
