thanks to everyone who's responded so far. a related question: is the ruger sp101 noticeably more difficult to conceal that the smith 640/taurus 85? i know the dimensions are greater.

howdy, since i can't rent them, i'm wondering whether the extra weight in the s&w 640/Taurus 85 all steel provides noticeable difference in recoil compared to the airweight/ultra lite J frames. any experiences?

I've heard this from a few other people too. I get the feeling that this one might best be held off until it becomes a little more mature (the regular T380 seems to get much better reliability reviews).

Thanks to everyone who's responded so far. Another question: How do the steel snubs compare to the airweights for developing accuracy? I'm interested in the slightly larger (like the sp101 and s&w640) as well as the JFrame lookalikes like the Taurus 85/850 (non-ul).

howdy, what do you think of the sights on this little gun? I haven't had a chance to shoot it, but they seem kinda small. I had no problem with the regular thunder 380 and like the overall size reduction of the 380cc, but the sights worry me.

follow up question: would it be easier to learn on an external hammer version, so you can practice sa/da?

howdy, how long did it take you to learn how to shoot your 2" revolver reasonably well? Also, what were your circumstances when you started shooting it (i.e. had experience with longer barrel revos, came over from semi autos, new to shooting, etc.)?

howdy, i've read the manuals provided by S&W and Taurus, and I think I understand how you go about cleaning the cylinder/barrel/muzzle etc. They don't discuss the internals, like the firing mechanics, instead saying that if you have other issues they should be taken in to a gunsmith. But it...
