This is the response from Brockman's to the original question: "It's spring loaded and the elevation adjustment has a lock." So I suppose that means that it returns to the preset position, i.e. it retains it's zero.

Good point on it's ability to work when needed most. If I ever play around with one, I'll let y'all know.

Does anybody have experience with Brockman's Pop-up Peep Sight? I was wondering whether it holds it's zero after it is depressed & pops back up upon removal of scope? I was thinking that as part of practical rifle setup, it should work well with a front sight and quick detach rings.
