    38 special or .380?

For me they are both pocket calibers only. And I carry one of either every day. I call it a wash for my purposes. A slight power advantage to the .38 +P with the 125 grain Gold Dots I use in my LCR. A slight capacity advantage and faster reload for the LCP or Pico. 7 rounds versus 5...

Ruger SR11, or Rock Island tactical

Right. Ruger's solution to the "drop safety" that the Swartz safety of the "Series 80" is, was to implement a titanium firing pin. Theoretically, and I'd assume they tested it, the light weight of the firing pin does not allow it enough inertia on a muzzle drop to make it to the primer of a...

have you ever seen a lcp malfunction with fmj ammo?

Two LCPs here. Neither have malfunctioned with any FMJ or JHP I've tried. Too hard to type on this Ipad, so won't list them, but it's been most of the Win, Fed, Speer, and Corbon 90-95 grain offerings. That's 100% reliability I carry Corbon and Speer 90 grain JHPs in mine, but FMJ makes...

What does the Sig 2022 do well?

What my 2022 did better than other 9mms I've owned is to require NO sight adjustment out of the box to hit dead center azimuth wise. Very refreshing. I've gotten used to the fact that I'm going to have to break out the brass drifts when sighting in a new pistol, so that was a pleasant surprise.

    New Ranch rifle

I've had one Mini-14 since 1976 and the other since 2010. The only malfunctions I've had with either were with aftermarket magazines. I tossed those and stick with Ruger magazines.

    Follow me on this one..

I'd never intentionally trust my family's life to a rimfire. Effective enough, yes. Reliable enough, no. I've got several rimfire rounds that I keep in a bowl that I've attempted to fire, or picked up off the ground over the years, with firing pin indents in them. Besides, I've got a bunch of...

    Ruger SP101 - Hogue Monogrip

I alternated between the factory grips and the Hogue monogrip for several years on my SP101s, never being totally happy with either. And not wanting to spend the bucks for the Eagles without trying them. I just put a set of Altemonts (ckeckered) on my two, and am very pleased. My Hogue...

On the issue of "tail gunners"...

Guess I'm an "average Joe" when it comes to such things. I've been carrying on the Texas CHL for many years, and have had several occasions where it was possible that I might have to draw. I can remember each incident in amazing detail, and I remember that I never, not once, checked my 360...

    Finally brought home a SP101

I've carried my 3" in a couple of different IWB holsters, but my most comfortable, inconspicuous, (and did I say Comfortable) method has been in a small Desantis Gunnysack. Has room for two Bianchi speedstrips with 10 extra rounds, and can't be seen under an untucked shirt. The websites make...

And tell him to treat the magazine release lever respectfully. Plastic, part of the stock, and non-repairable.

    Picked up a CW380 today

My P380 preferred the hot Corbon 90 grain JHPs. This was the only round out of many I tried that I didn't have stovepipes and random in-the-face ejection with. After three trips back to Kahr, it became reliable with everything, but that took close to 1000 rounds of pricey 380 ammo. My 2 LCPs...

Which Is A Better .357? Colt, Ruger, Smith?

In my opinion, Ruger by far, for the reason most important to me, proper function. I've had a Python, and multiple Smiths (19-28-686). All out of time with magnum loads inside a few hundred rounds. I'm talking about carryup in slow cock on one or more chambers, which admittedly is more...
