    gun for IDPA, or IPSC

I shoot a XD9 Tactical in the IDPA and do well with it. I don't feel I am at a disadvantage against the 1911's. I think I have an advantage. I can start with 10+1 were 1911's are 9+1 and I don't have any safty to fumble with. As long as you get the trigger worked on you will be good. As far as...

uspsa/ipsc gun selection S&W or Sig

In1812, you may think differently about "pastic guns" after you get beaten by them time after time. I started with a 1911 and now use a SA XD-9 Tactical for IDPA in the ESP div. and have seen improvements every week since I started using it. My times are getting faster and accuracy is getting...

IDPA qualifier ... what to expect?

No one makes you qualify! It's the club members choice. If you would like to go beyond the club level then its something you must do. IPSC, IDPA, USPSA , all have a qualification process. The qualifier is like shooting a match, only the stages you shoot are to determine your skill level.

IDPA qualifier ... what to expect?

The classifier is to put you in a class according to your skill level. This is a good way to see how you compare to the others in your class. Don't sweat it. The classifier takes place about four times a year. As you improve you will move up.

    .44spl for IDPA SSR?

After your first match, you will be hooked.. Don't worry how fast you do each stage just get the mechanics down and follow the SO's instructions. Speed will come with practice. Remember the main thing is to have fun shooting the stages. As far as your gun, chances are you will be trying others...
