I wouldn't dump full power 357 loads on any new shooter, female or male. I always start out with 38 target loads and work up to the spot that the shooter is comfortable with the load and can handle the recoil. Especially in a J frame.

45acp = headspace on case mouth = taper crimp
If he is roll crimping that could be the problem. They might be seating too far forward.
The primers have no firing pin hit mark?? Primers seated deep enough? That would be my second guess.
Thirdly make sure the firing pin channel / pin...
Look for a local Glock Armorer. He can take a quick look at it and tell you if something is out o f whack. If it is, Glock will make it right or repair it for a nominal fee.
