    Remington 700

I have the SPS Tactical 20" in .308, and it's plenty accurate for me. I see no reason why you couldn't use it as a varmint gun. You can usually find some deals on .308 ammo online, i've seen it go as low a 9.50/box (sold out now so no link).

.22 to match with a Glock

Now you all have peeked my interest on this pistol. If it's that accurate it should be a good plinker that I can practice with and do so cheaply.

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

To bad I'm down south in Florida, now I just need to make enough money to buy a few hundred acres in North Dakota/Montana area so I can shoot off my back porch like all the cool kids.

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

Geno you got it to good, I live in a city and the only place I can goto shoot is a rifle range that is paper only, no reactive or steel targets, and only two of the firing lanes even go out to 200 yards. I think next time I'm out i'm going to try the 200 yards and see what happens. Though I dont...

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

Thats really good grouping for that range and wind with a .223, dont those light bullets get knocked around pretty bad in wind? On a side note, I bought mine mostly to have a gun I could go to the range with, and then take out deer/hog hunting. It's heavier than a normal hunting rifle, but my...

    3/4" rimfire scope rings.

best i could find was http://www.opticsplanet.net/bsa-rimfire-3-7x20-riflescopes-clam-pack.html which is about $30, you can trash the scope and just use the rings. There might be somewhere that sells them if you look for airgun supplies.

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

It's kind of a toss up on which i'd perfer, fixing me takes a lot more effort than fixing a bad stock/bad scopemount/bad ammo/bad what ever. But knowing the rifle works well does give you a bit more of a drive to focus on the basics.

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

Out of the box, with a nikon buckmaster scope, and a harris bipod, i was shooting off front sandbag.

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

Rat - i know the feeling, the rifle is pulling me up to it's level, and i'm dragging it down to mine. Maybe if I let it do its job and stay out of it's way I'll see better results.

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

Mine seems to be very well put together, and after this range visit I might have won the lottery so to speak, but i'm happy.

Remington 700 SPS 308 range report

I just got out to the range with my Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 and I have to say I'm pretty happy. I was shooting factory Fiocchi 150gr soft points at 100 yards and managed to get a decent group. I was a little worried about it after seeing some people having issues with it, but this...

    CMMG .22 Conversion

Anyone know if the Aguila Sub-sonic Sniper rounds would work well with the 1:9 twist of a normal .223 barrel? I've heard that you want a faster twist for those since they are fairly heavy bullets (a 22short with a bullet big enough to make it a 22lr).

You people are KILLING ME!!- CZ82 on the way

I was thinking about doing the same thing, but with the hopes of doing some competitions I've opted for something else. Might revisit this one once the gun fund fills back up.

    Pistol to learn accuracy with

aliasneo07 - The .45 was a Colt 1911, and it just felt off to me. It was a standard human torso target, i think it's the Florida CC qualifier. searcher451 - They did not have a walther P99 at the range, so I was unable to try it out, and I don't want to go about buying a gun with out having...

    Pistol to learn accuracy with

Went to the range today after work, had a range instructor watch me for the first 10 rounds, they were scattered pretty bad if I'm honest. He gave me a few corrections, 45 seconds of talk or so. I picked up the gun, put the clip in and fired another 10 shots, all within 3-4" group at 20 feet...
