Seeing many posts about these, but the more I read, the more confused I become. Referring to 9mm pistols, what defines one or the other? Example: Four pistols, Kahr PM9 and P9, SIG P365 and P239.

Thank for all thoughts. The reason for wanting the .45 Colt was because of how effective they are with a .255 gr. SWC in a Ruger SA revolver. Of course that is on whitetail and not subsonic. Will give it more thought, maybe a suppressed lever rifle or trade the Savage.

Another thread in this forum got the wheels turning in my head. I have a Savage 110 .308 that I haven't used for years. I'm dreaming of replacing barrel with suppressed 16" barrel, caliber .45 Colt. Anyone here done this. Wouldn't this be great for hog hunting, day and night?

So, just think about $100 more, for the mechanical lock?

If you want .45, I can recommend Kahr PM45, although a bit large for pocket carry in my experience. Kakr PM380 is a better fit for me. I have no experience with the Kahr CW models, but they are less expensive and I think they have cut rifling, so cast bullets no problem.

Had the Pocketlite, sold it, bought a Colt Pony .380. Sold the Pony and have been carrying a Kahr P380 for the last few years.

I would give $20. Have one that I bought new, used it maybe 2-3 times in the last 20+ years, since I went digital. Good scales, probably never sell mine. Also still have my first scale from 50 years ago that I bought used, Herters or Redding, haven't seen it for a while.

In my opinion it would depend a lot on how long the magazines remained fully loaded more than number of rounds shot. But, I haven't owned a pistol that I have fired more than 5K rounds, although some used pistols that I have owned may have been shot more than that. I can't remember any...

I have carried SIG P245, Kimber Pro and Ultra carry in the past. Your thinking mirrors mine.

Old Dog, Strong side .45 is my usual mode of carry. .380 or 9, pocket or ankle for backup. I'm guessing you just came from the vet.

I never carry more than two at one time. More often than not, P9 or P45 at waist and 380 in pocket. I like the P9 in shoulder holster for long vehicle trips. Usually don't carry extra mags on me, a couple in vehicle. Extra ammo if I'm gone more than a day. Shotgun for camping. German Shepherd...

I believe that I now have the most common modes covered. Going to try and stay with this lineup. From top, P45- on belt, P9-IWB, PM9-shoulder holster or ankle, P380-pocket. What say you?
