First time to pull my side arm today

I can fully cope with SimplyChad. When I was roaming the US back in the early '70's I got involved in a situation like his. I had just bought a 1911 ACP and that saved the day. According to me, he did the right thing. Otherwise the 2nd amendment is useless.Am I wrong?

    .30-30 Disrespect?

I have a .30-.30 (rimfire cartridge) in a single action Savage brake down barrel. I use it on boar and doe, or when we go into the hills. Visored with a Bushnell it works already 25 years for me. In our area the .30-.30 is quite popular. Distances are 100-150 yards.

    Guess whose gun this is?

Funny to meet another writer in the forum. I write for 4years now and published 2 novels (thrillers). In Cold Case guns are a big issue when the Dutch Police are chasing a wildcat killer ...... Books are in the Dutch language so there is no commercial attachment  My next one is a...

    .300 H&H (magnum) Forgotten caliber?

@ Joed I absolutely agree with you - I find here on THR at last a number of decent experienced people. @ X Wrench This is the very reason that I consider to bring a Holland & Holland .300 magnum on the (EU) market. Barrels of very best quality are no obstacle, neither are the actions. I...

    .300 H&H (magnum) Forgotten caliber?

Recently I saw an article about the .300 H&H magnum ammo that has been introduced by the H&H company in 1925 as "the super thirty". The parentt case is the .375 H&H and the advantages are legion. Superior over the 30.06 over long range and it is bread and butter with the reloaders (which I am)...

    .375 Ruger

@ BrocLuno @ Weldin Rod Thanks. I'll take the Ruger. Good piece of hardware and comes from 1st class gunsmith. It lacks the velvet touch of the genuine H&H but here values in money are just incomparable. That's why I sold the H&H. If I was 20 years younger, selling the H&H was no option.

    .375 Ruger

@ Welding Rod When it's heavy, weight will absorb some of the recoil. Your reply confirms more or less my initial reservation. I will made the gunnery a suitable offer, if they do not accept I will order a custom one. Lothar Walther barrel, Mauser long action and the stock made by a specialist.

    .375 Ruger

You guys have good expertise, I have no idea if African caliber - this is the H&H .375 magnum from Ruger with the Circassian Walnut stock. Normally Ruger chambers in their own.375. However, I am e selfloader and are set up for the .375 H&H, which is an allround easy to acquire cartridge...

    .375 Ruger

Splendid reply for quality. Question remaining, is it worth the equivalent of US$ 3000,- ?

    .375 Ruger

For age and financial reason I have accepted an irresitible offer for my genuine .375 H&H, an actual museumpiece. I bought this rifle almost new in the late '60s and now having no more African caliber, I have the sudden opportunity to buy a semi custom Ruger .375 H&H chambered with a Schmidt &...
