Got my hands on a strange one

Kinda what I was thinking PapaG............. the mechanisms look "Browningish".............but I wanted a definitive diagram to go by before I disassemble it to check for functionality.

Got my hands on a strange one

A friend of mine's Mother had an old little .25ACP that she knew nothing about and wonders if it is usable. I have been unable to identify it in my NRA book of Handguns, so I thought I might post a few pictures and see if anyone knows what this might be because there is no brand name on it, just...

PACT scale / dispenser combo - any reviews of accuracy?

I've been using the PACT set-up ever since it came out. Like the review that was posted said, it is a little on the "slow" side.Since I don't load tons of rounds at a time, the speed is no big deal. And I understand that the newer models have been improved speed-wise and that I could have sent...

    HP-XTP 45 ACP Question

For what it is worth, I load all my XTPs (185,200, & 230 gr) at an OAL of 1.245" -in fact all of my HP type bullets get that OAL..............it's where my Springer G.I. model likes 'em. As far as Universal goes - with the 200gr XTPs, I found my most accurate load at the 6.5gr...

.45 ACP shooting 3"-4" high at 25 feet

For the record clongest: with 700-X and 230gr jacketed or plated bullets - I use 5.2gr of 700-X at an OAL of 1.245. This is for my Springer 1911-A1 GI Model and it shoots point of aim and 2" groups at 15 yards.

45 ACP load for 185 gr JHP + Red Dot?

Well, my best 185gr JHP load (using Remington Golden Saber bullets) with Red Dot powder is with 6.0gr with the round OAL of 1.245". I can shoot this load into a 2" group at 15 yards offhand all day long with my Springer 1911-A1 GI Model.

A THR Cap & Ball virtual Pistol Match - for January '10

Like the Dr said.......... it's pretty ugly up this way right now - but I do want to try this if at all possible. A couple of question though: When do our targets have to be completed? Scoring - I assume the center is "10" and each ring 1 value lower? How willl we compare...

    M1A Hooded Rear Sight Questions

ditto.................... The sight piece (hood and banana-shaped toothed section) is all you need to convert and you can pretty much figure on grinding out some of the bottom section like nicholst55 said. Here is a link to the procedure: http://www.fulton-armory.com/NMRearSight.htm

    Annoyed at History Channel show

Yep - the "History" Channel is irking me more and more each day. They have begun revising "History" to Liberal standards and "Channeling" it down the viewers' throats. Give me SyFy or give me death!

    Hornady .50 Great Plains bullets

TomADC: It is indeed possible to shoot Patched round ball out of an in-line - and with surprisingly good results too. Like with the conicals, you just can't push them too fast. 60 to 90gr of PyroRS or Black or 70gr of 777 works pretty good in my Knight. I was able to take out the middle 3" of...

    Tubbs Final Finish

+1 to the copper removal and bore paste before trying the Final Finish System. I used the Tubbs on an old rifle that needed a lot of help - and it did help...........but I don't think I would use it on a reasonably newer bore.

    Hornady .50 Great Plains bullets

I've had decent results using the GPs out of my Knight - nothing to write home about. One Conical I can recommend for in-lines are the No Excuses 460gr bullets. I would have no qualms hunting with those out to the 75 to 100yd range. One thing about using conicals (or patched balls for that...
