Based on this thread, I just had to see what all the fuss was about, so..... I ordered and received both an Opinel #12 and a new (really) Cold Steel Twistmaster. While I haven't had the opportunity to put either of them through any sort of use or testing yet, I really prefer the overall...

460Kodiak - post #3: They certainly do have the option, and have exercised it at least once that I can personally attest to. I have a Model 442 Pro (that uses moon clips) that has no internal lock. And it was definitely manufactured since the internal lock became standard for S&W revolvers...

I bought one of the first ones to come out (literally - was s/n under 150) way back when and that POS wouldn't fire three rounds without jamming. Got sent back to the factory where they rebuilt everything but the serial number. When it came back it worked okay, but isn't much fun to shoot...

Completely obsolete. They have no purpose whatsoever in a modern world. All they do is launch various lead systems when the trigger is pulled. I can see no use for them in any capacity. :cool: This just in.... is the 1911-style pistol obsolete?

Another one I personally like that might fill the bill - early model Ruger Bearcat. Light, accurate, fun (not that fun is supposed to be a factor) and reliable.
