    Opinel's, What's not to love!?

Based on this thread, I just had to see what all the fuss was about, so..... I ordered and received both an Opinel #12 and a new (really) Cold Steel Twistmaster. While I haven't had the opportunity to put either of them through any sort of use or testing yet, I really prefer the overall...

The Unbreakable Umbrella - my experience

And that right there is the philosophy for a successful and honorable life in general. If more people/companies subscribed to it, the world would be a better place. :)

Black Diamond Trekking Pole Traction Tip Fits Unbreakable Umbrella

Thanks for the tip (pun intended) for this umbrella accessory. Just got an order of same from Amazon today and it fits like it was made for it. Great compliment to a great under-the-radar personal defense tool.

The Unbreakable Umbrella - my experience

Well.... they're here. :) I have to admit that I had some concern about springing for the telescoping model because it certainly wasn't cheap, and I didn't know if I could justify the "want it" factor. Now that it's here - I'd do it again in a heartbeat. High quality piece of equipment...

The Unbreakable Umbrella - my experience

Madcap_Magician re: the telescoping umbrella. You can bet on it. I'd been thinking about getting one for a while, but this experience pushed me over the decision line. I fully expect it to be everything they claim. I know I always liked my wife's full-size one. I think that the concept of...

The Unbreakable Umbrella - my experience

Just recently had to deal with Real-Self-Defense customer service and wanted folks to know how it went. About 4-1/2 years ago I bought one of the premium model unbreakable umbrellas. They have a 5-year warranty. I gave it to my wife and it has had plenty of use as we live in the Pacific...

Let's settle the S&W internal lock debate once and for all!!! Read instructions!

460Kodiak - post #3: They certainly do have the option, and have exercised it at least once that I can personally attest to. I have a Model 442 Pro (that uses moon clips) that has no internal lock. And it was definitely manufactured since the internal lock became standard for S&W revolvers...

New 32 shot 9mm, well new to me

:uhoh: Uh... I could be wrong here (it's been known to happen) - but wouldn't that come under the heading of....Illegal! Based on the info supplied below - I stand corrected. :)

Going to sell my 329PD..need help on pricing

$800 has been the going price (give or take a bit) for used ones on Gunbroker. That would be a fair deal for both you and the buyer, I'd think.

What brand do you carrythe most.

    None of the above.

    Kel-tec P-32

I bought one of the first ones to come out (literally - was s/n under 150) way back when and that POS wouldn't fire three rounds without jamming. Got sent back to the factory where they rebuilt everything but the serial number. When it came back it worked okay, but isn't much fun to shoot...

    Are Combat Shotguns Obsolete?

Completely obsolete. They have no purpose whatsoever in a modern world. All they do is launch various lead systems when the trigger is pulled. I can see no use for them in any capacity. This just in.... is the 1911-style pistol obsolete?

    22 flying / Survival-vest pistol search

Another one I personally like that might fill the bill - early model Ruger Bearcat. Light, accurate, fun (not that fun is supposed to be a factor) and reliable.

My trigger finger is my safety

Just curious.... Is the purpose of this thread (and the previous monstrosity that it somewhat closely resembles) to: a.) demonstrate that one type of pistol configuration (with/without manually engaged/released safety) is superior to the other b.) convince the opposing point of view of the...
