Domino. Yes it does have the detachable magazine.
Sabbath wolf...very nice. I will be getting a bipod at the gun show tomorrow.
I have handled both stocks now and honestly the HS makes me feel more confident in the way it fits. Then again I do not have your "normal" body shape. I am 6'...
I did a little more research on the mcmillan vs hs
I mentioned that perhaps the mcmillan was more because of the name.
Well that may be somewhat true but is also apears to be because the mcmillan is a superior stock.
Should I look for any problems with the HS (I love the way it fits me)...
Powderman...I'm in the Tacoma area
I will get a HP scope someday but I don't want to settle so I will save up and get a good one.
What part of the state are you located in?
Be safe..God Bless.

I already have a scope...it is a Leupold mark IV 3x9 yes in 3x9 that they closed out in 2006. I picked it up a while ago for $325.
I realize it may not be the ideal power range but is is a high quality scope at a GREAT price (I think anyway).
I am mounting and bore sighting it up right...
BTG..thanks for the sound advice.
Fortunately one thing I did learn early on is that I keep an account of "mad Money" for Occasions such as this. That way I am NOT spending money I can't afford. Also now that the "mad money" account is depleated I have a rule that I can't "impulse" again...
Hey..thanks devil dog.
That is the model with the mcmillan stock. It has a list price much higher for some reason.
On the savage site the Mcmillan 10fcp lists for $1242 and the HS precision lists for $1028. Maybe because of the name???
I understand that the mcmillian is not bedded and HS...
Many seem to be curious what I paid for it.
What do they go for?
This is a brand New gun...I paid $799. HOW does that price compare???
I failed to mention that I also fondled the comperable style remington 700 with the "thicker stock and barrel" and the fit was way off for me. I had...
I picked up a savage 10FCP heavy barrel .308 "sniper type" rifle with an HS precision stock yesterday.
I was not really in the market but I shouldered the weapon and I honestly have never had a stock fit me so comfortable and it made me feel very confident I could hit what I was aiming at...I...
mine says on the left side of the receiver.
If these are drying up I know of a local shop here in Washington state that has many in stock.
fwiw.
Mine looks just like the one you are looking at...buy it before you can't.

Thanks for your input.
Shane
The eye relief on their webiste is 3-5 inches.
I have one currently on my AR and like it so far. Primary reason I went with it over the other standard ones is the fact you can use it without illumination. and the size is compact.
I too found myself in the same predicament and came to the conclusion that there was only one solution for me...
I saved up longer and bought them both at the same time:):):)
Below are the pics...
The AR is a Rock river CAR A4. The 556 currently has a Bushnell legend 2x7 scope...
