Ya, it had it's uses. It was issued to me in Basic and AIT. Then they took it away and gave me the Mattel Toy but..............I'm glad I had Matty Mattel instead of the M14 humping in the bamboo jungles a long time ago in a land far, far away. No mistake there.

I would recomend a gunsmith who works on 1911's to do this. This doesn't mean that you are not capable of doing it yourself, I just know too many guys who have ruined a good 1911 by doing what you stated above. Is there a problem with your pistol feeding rounds now?

Older Colts had the larger pivot pins. Current production uses the standard size pivot pin.

Colt makes the M4’s for the military. They have to pass some very stringent testing. The quality control is top notch.
