for the record, I walked in a big box chain looking for 8x56R and was handed 8MM mauser. I told the guy that is not the same. I never owned anything in 8MM mauser, but i beleived they were two different cals. I was told by him that 8MM is 8MM. I left the box he handed me on his counter.
