I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the "new" HK45 (not the H&K .45 USP) given the fact that it's been so thoroughly torture tested for military use. -Is it the cost or other issues? The #1 feature in a "carry" sidearm is reliability. Has anyone had problems with this sidearm?

I think the Russian SVT-40 may fall in that category. It's a little different from most in that it's adjustable for ammunition and weather.
