Since this is my first Submission, I hope I will be helpful.

AS I grew up and Served, long ago, with Wood, Steel & Iron Sight firearms I've found that the old adage that: "Old Habits Die Hard" is as Real as Gravity; and sometimes just as painful.

Anyone in the market for a fun, very reasonably priced, "Jaw Dropper" can't do much better than this hefty carbine; especially with the 70+ Round Drum Magazine.

I enjoy mine as a tough, cheap, long-range, EXTREMELY accurate, 9mm Plincker that's just great fun can't do much better; especially when you don't want to burn up your more expensive .30+ Caliber Ammunition.

At this point, I've got as many questions as answers about this Joy Toy & I hope to contribute as much as possible to other Readers from the Lessons of a Life Lived Fully if Not Wisely!
Best Wishes to All

I've heard the drum magazines don't work very well with those because they were designed to function with an open-bolt design. The semi-auto Suomi was modified to fire from a closed-bolt. The stick magazines work fine, though.

The full auto version of it sure raised havoc with the Soviets in the Winter War.

Just a few years before, the Finns had tried to submit it to the Soviets, who sneered and said nyet.

After tens of thousands causalities from it wielded by the Finns in 1939-40,. They re-evaluated it, copied and came up with the PPD-40 first and later the PPSh-41, making around six million during WW2.

A drum seems to function OK with this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnoIr7wt9tQ
