I quit watching the Jon Stewart show when I saw him, as a grown man, cry on national TV after 9/11, then saw him saying how Bush was "exaggerating the threat of terrorism" a few years later.

Other people have mentioned this as well. I don't think that either the homeowner nor the police who had previously been called to the scene because of trespassing/burglary/shooting cats knew who had been breaking in. The identities of the trespassers were only discovered after the shooting...

I also liked how, in one episode, they repeatedly made remarks about how "3 of the people we caught were in the military!" over and over again. I'm sure they caught more than 3 of other people from the same occupation, but there was no remark "3 of the people we caught were plumbers!"

Because they are our enemy and have publicly stated so/made threats. If you were in the street and your well-known enemy was about to fight you, would you let him run down the street to the gun store first?
