Do You Carry With a Round In the Chamber While You CC or OC?

I carry my 1911 condition 3. I know, I know, I'm a dead man. I am probably even "deader" in that I use a G.I. guide rod and, as if those transgressions aren't enough, I've been known to actually load and carry a magazine with...practice ammo.

    Rifle case lubes

I've been using the Frankford Arsenal pump spray lube. I put 30-40 cases in a zip lock bag, a pump of the lube, roll the cases together in the bag and they're GTG. I wipe each case as I take it off the press but I don't think that I'd have to. I've left a few on my bench for a time with the...

    Favorite wet tumbling solution

Al Model B tumblers are designed and sold as a reloading/brass cleaning tool. Original equipment is the 3000 rpm motor. The link you supplied shows the parts available for the Model B. The OE replacement 3000 rpm motor is available as is the 1500 rpm motor which is described as and intended to...

    Favorite wet tumbling solution

I think it is. There is only one Model B. Their webpage just calls it a Model B. The tumbler is listed as "Model B High Speed Rotary Tumbler" at Midway, Amazon etc but all I've seen is the one Model B. There are other models, but looks to me as though all Model B's are the same.

    Favorite wet tumbling solution

Same with me. I'm using some kind of 3x stuff and it works fine. About a quarter cap and a quarter tsp. of LemShine in a gallon of water. I was using Dawn but I read somewhere that dish soap isn't good because it's designed to do a number on grease and oil and over time it destroys the rubber...

    FOID Card Odyssey

Illinois is funny about that FOID card. When I got my CCW, i sent all of the paperwork in and waited for the card. The card was guaranteed to be in my hands within a certain time frame (don't remember what that is now) but right around that time a ISP envelope shows up. I figured it was the...

    too many guns.

I used to deer hunt in Wisconsin. I live in Illinois but I have a place in Wisconsin and I got hooked up with some of the locals and... It sounded good and it was a lot of fun, but it required a whole different set of guns than what I need in Illinois. I had a 30-06 semi and that was good...

Which dies for my Dillion? Need a set........

If I had it to do again I'd just get the Dillon dies. I have a set of Dillon 223 on my 650. i also bought a set of Lee RGB 223 dies that I use to resize on an LCT. I've got a turret that has a Lee RGB 223 and 308 FL resizer along with an RCBS SB 308 for that caliber when I've had trouble...

What Will I Need To Start Reloading .308/7.62x51 Ammo

I've been using the Frankford Arsenal spray lube. Pretty good stuff. I place about 30-40 cases in a baggie, spray or two in the bag and roll the caes around the bag and against each other for a minute or two, resize and wipe them off. I found a bad case as I was resizing a bag a week or so...

    swage vs ream 223?

I had 1k unprocessed LC 5.56 and I was looking at the same issue. A thousand rounds will probably last me quite awhile but I had a thousand LC 7.62 that I had to do also. I bought the Dillon Super Swage and I think I did the right thing. It's a pretty impressive tool. Saving $35 per K, it...

What Will I Need To Start Reloading .308/7.62x51 Ammo

I didn't see mention of what kind of gun you're loading for. I load for a Ruger Scout and a finiky M1A. If you need a FL die for 308 you might want to consider a small base die. My Scout will operate with just about anything I throw in it but the M1A seems to go along OK for a while on the...

    Lee turret priming fix.

That's not what he said. He said that some of us would notice that he was using a large primer with a 223 shell holder and asked that "we not judge him". He knew it wasn't set up properly. He was simply demonstrating how to align the shell holder adaptor on the press. I discovered this issue...

What do you keep on the nightstand?

"A 1911 in the closet on the top shelf. A curios two year old makes a gun in the nightstand a an unsafe choice for me." Don't count on that "top shelf" doing the job much longer. I'll bet you can figure out how I know.
