what am I seeing here, it this sight staked?

would I be able to just knock out the old sight and then use a present day style front sight? The oval hole in the slide visually seems to be the same as on a new Glock

Glock 17 Front Sight by socalbeachbum posted Jul 18, 2020 at 3:43 PM The front sight on my recently acquired Glock 17 looks like it is staked. Or did the hex head screw fall out? I don't see any threads.

Laser sights with GOOD adjustment screws ??

So I wore out the hex in the adjustment screws in my TLR-4 light/laser by swapping from one pistol to another and re-sighting, the screws were incredibly tight and very tough to turn. So it is going in to Streamlight for service, they offer limited lifetime warranty. My other Streamlight lasers...

    target pistol questions

P-09, that's a good suggestion, we can find them here for about $880. I have a nice Beretta 92A1 that is fairly accurate. I've thought about tossing $$ at it for match barrel, better sights or red dot, and a little more trigger work. Side by side, the Wather PPQ5 match blew away the Beretta the...

    target pistol questions

I noted the comments about polymer frame being not good in a target pistol, but I thought the bigger issue is striker fired vs SD or DA/SA triggers. Walther, CZ, HK, S&W, Sig, Springfield (XD) are all putting out 'accurized' striker fired models, which all seem to get good reviews. Why would...

tarosean thanks for the CZ TS tip, I did realize these come mostly in .40 not in 9mm, and I'm not sure I want to go with .40 and also the large grip of the TS may not be for me, have to get my hands on one. BDS thanks for all that info!

PO2Hammer, you said "Shot some sub 5" groups at 50 yards recently." Was this your Kimber 9mm 1911 Target? Have you done any mods to it?

    target pistol questions

So at the range this evening, I used a Wilson Combat CQB .45 1911 and did well with it, but with my reumatoid arthritis, I realize .45 is not right for me, so I'm deleting the HK Elite and Expert from my list. Makes me think or getting another Smith 41, but I tend to get bored with .22 even...

    target pistol questions

ya, I hear you. I was so impressed by that Q5 I would not have expected a striker fired pistol to be very accurate. But Sig has gone to it also. I tried the Springfield 1911 load 9mm and it was not very accurate in my hands. This is our Roster: https://www.oag.ca.gov/firearms/certguns pistols...
